UCLA vs Oregon 2010 College Football Odds, 2010 College Football Picks & 2010 College Football Predictions: ESPN brings college football fans a Pac 10 showdown at Autzen Stadium tomorrow evening as the top ranked Oregon Ducks play host to the UCLA Bruins. The conference clash is scheduled to kickoff at 9:00pm ET Thursday night in Eugene, Oregon. 2010 College Football Odds, Picks & Predictions at SBGglobal.com have the Ducks listed as a -24 against the spread home favorite; the Over/Under is presently set at 61.
UCLA appeared on the verge of salvaging the horrendous beginning to its season, rebounding from losses to Kansas State
and Stanford with wins over Houston, Texas, and Washington State. The recovery plan got derailed a week and a half ago, though, with an ugly 35-7 loss at Cal.
The Bears defense forced the Bruins to go away from their strength, rushing the ball, after UCLA fell behind 28-0 in the first half. Quarterback Kevin Prince, playing in an ill-suited come from behind role, completed 13-of-31 passes for 99 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. UCLA's ground game finished with a miserable 26 yards on 26 carries, despite a 13 carry, 54 yard performance from running back Jonathan Franklin (Prince eight carries for -32 yards).
The Bruins defense fared even worse than its offense as Cal racked up 304 rush yards (Shane Vereen 25 carries, 151 yards, two touchdowns) on 55 carries.
Oregon, which is ranked No.1 in the AP Poll and No. 2 in the opening BCS standings, comes into rivalry meeting with a 6-0 record after beating Washington State 43-23 on October 9th.
The Ducks, which lost three fumbles in the win over the Cougars, produced 556 total yards in 25:30 after rushing for 252 yards on 40 touches. Running back LaMichael James came away with 136 rush yards and three touchdowns, scoring on two one yard runs and an 84 yard catch. James, who has amassed 848 yards on the ground this season, ranks first in the nation in rush yards per game (169.60).
Despite the meager 43 points (tongue firmly in cheek), Oregon still leads the nation in points and rush yards per game at 54.3 and 317.8 respectively.
Oregon has dominated this series in recent seasons, taking three of the last four against the Bruins by an average of 10.3 points per game. UCLA's last win over the Ducks came in 2007, when it prevailed 16-0 over its conference rival at the Rose Bowl.
College Football Predictions Betting Trend: UCLA is 8-1 against the spread but 1-8 straight up in its last nine games as a road dog with a total over 54.5. The Bruins are 5-0 against the spread (1-4 SU) as a road dog against a Pac 10 foe with a total of 54.5 or more (Over 4-0-1).
