College Football Picks Week 8: Last week we went 1-1 with the Idaho Vandals easily covering the spread at home against Hawai'i and Texas A&M (our pick) getting torched at Kansas State 14-62. To say the Aggies did not show up would be a colossal understatement; their performance was inexcusable, especially against a team that has shown little to no offense the majority of the season. Anyway, we move forward to week 8 and have found a couple nice plays that would work well as a teaser parlay. Air Force Falcons vs Utah Utes (-9.5): We like the Falcons +9.5 here against the Utes, despite the fact the Utah seems to be hitting its stride of late. However, Air Force will be the toughest squad the Utes have faced since squaring off against Oregon on September 19th and the Falcons always seem to give Utah a difficult time. Consider that Air Force is 5-0 against the spread (3-2 straight up) in their last five trips to Salt Lake City and you get the picture. Air Force comes in having lost two out of three, but Navy needed OT to get past them and they took No. 8 TCU to the wire before falling 17-20. 

The Falcons are averaging 279 yards per game on the ground while the Utes are holding their competition to a modest 129.8 rush yards per game. Air Force should be able to run the ball and keep the clock running. 

Arkansas Razorbacks vs Mississippi Rebels (-6.5): No offense Rebels fans, but your team has been overrated from day one, but odds maker seem desperate for them to prove it. Arkansas will do them that favor, again, this weekend in Oxford. Yes, the Razorbacks are coming off a difficult loss to Florida, but they proved in that game they are a somewhat underrated squad. Frankly, inspite of their 3-3 record, they have played better than Ole' Miss all year long. I like the Razorbacks straight up in this game as they should be able to run the ball effectively against the Rebels, thus opening up the passing game. The Hogs have really played well the last three weeks and they should carry that momentum into this contest. Consider that Arkansas is 10-5 straight up and 11-3 against the spread versus Mississippi (since 1994) and you realize I'm not going out on a limb here.

These two as a six or seven point teaser parlay should win easily, making Air Force a +15.5 to +16.5 dog and Arkansas a +12.5 to +13.5 dog. That sounds pretty good.
