Notre Dame vs Navy 2010 College Football Odds, 2010 College Football Picks & 2010 College Football Predictions: The Fighting Irish will look to continue their resurgence this weekend as they square off against longtime rival Navy in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Tomorrow's game is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00pm ET at the New Meadowlands Stadium; it will be broadcast live on CBS. 2010 College Football Odds, Picks & Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Irish listed as a -6.5 against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 49.5.
Notre Dame got its season off to a 1-3 start under new Head Coach Brian Kelly, losing three straight to Michigan, Michigan
State, and Stanford. The Fighting Irish have rebounded, though, by winning three consecutive games, beating Boston College 31-13, Pittsburgh 23-17, and Western Michigan 44-20.
The Irish offense, which has been consisent if nothing else this season, recorded 448 yards in beating the Broncos. Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist completed 18 of his 28 passes for 255 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the victory. Crist now has 14 touchdowns to five interceptions on the year.
Notre Dame's defense, which got rung up for 99 points in the team's three game skid, held the Broncos to 3-of-14 on third down and 314 total yards for the game. Since allowing 37 at home to Stanford, the Irish have given up just 40 total points.
Navy ran its record to 4-2 last weekend with a 28-21 win over SMU in Annapolis. The Middies, which have won four of their last five games by an average of seven points per game, relied on their rushing attack, as they usually do, to stampede the Mustangs.
Navy rushed for 253 yards on 55 carries as Alexander Teich garnered 95 yards and two touchdowns on 21 touches. Quarterback Ricky Dobbs added 62 rush yards while throwing for 84 yards and one touchdown in nine pass attempts.
The Midshipmen defense gave up 375 yards to SMU's offense, but they also forced two Mustang turnovers to help seal the victory.
Notre Dame won seven in row in this series from 2000 to 2006, but the Middies have won two of the last three, including a 23-21 victory last year in South Bend. Dobbs rushed for 102 yards in that game, and he also accounted for 14 of Navy's 23 points, throwing for one score while rushing for another.
College Football Predictions Betting Trend: The Irish are 4-3 straight up but just 1-5-1 against the spread over the last three season playing as a favorite coming off a home win.
