Iowa vs Michigan State College Football Odds, College Football Picks & College Football Predictions: The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Michigan State Spartans are set to butt heads tomorrow evening at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing. The No. 6 Hawkeyes are presently the top dog in the conference standings with a 3-0 league record, but the Spartans are just a game behind at 3-1. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm ET; the game can be seen live on the Big 10 Network. College Football Odds at Sportsbetting.com have the contest listed as a pick'em.
Iowa ran its record to 7-0 last Saturday, getting the better of Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium by a socre of 20-10. Seldom do the Hawkeyes look good doing what they do, and they did not against the Badgers, but they still find a way to win. Kirk Ferentz' squad had just 283 yards and averaged a paltry 1.7 yards per carry, but their 22nd ranked defense held Wisconsin to 230 yards and 3-of-12 on third down.
Quarterback Ricky Stanzi played a quality game, completing 17-of-23 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown. Freshman running back Adam Robinson had another solid outing, carrying the ball 20 times for 91 yards.
Ferentz alluded to his team's ugly style of play this week, but he also suggested that winning is all that really matters.
"We're certainly not the prettiest car in the lot," Ferentz said. "But that's OK. We're having a lot of fun."
Michigan State, which knows a thing or two about ugly playing style, advanced its record to 4-3 last week with a 24-14 win over Northwestern in East Lansing. The victory was the Spartans third in a row and their third win against a Big Ten challenger (Michigan, Illinois). Mark Dantonio's troops have shown some tremendous resolve over the last few weeks and after a 1-3, they now find themselves in the thick of the conference race. Still, they might need something extra to get by the never say die Hawkeyes.
"Iowa right now is playing as the best team in the Big Ten," Spartans quarterback Kirk Cousins said. "They're going to come here and have to go through us, obviously. We expect a great game from them. We're going to have to play better than we've played any week this season in order to have an opportunity to beat them."
College Football Odds Betting Trend: Michigan State is 1-9 straight up and against the spread dating back to November of 2001 playing as a home team with a spread between 0 and 3.5.
Iowa Hawkeyes Pick (-110), Over 41.5 (-110)
Michigan State Spartans Pick (-110), Under 41.5 (-110)
