BCS Standings 2010 – Auburn runs to Number 1: The Oregon Ducks (7-0) did what they had to do to remain on top of the media polls, AP and USA-Today/Coaches by trouncing UCLA on Thursday, but it was undefeated Auburn (7-0), who vaulted to the top of the Bowl Championship Series Standings following their 24-17 victory over No. 6 LSU on Saturday. If Auburn wins out they are assured a ticket to the BCS Game in January. Oregon remained in the No. 2 BCS slot followed by Boise State, TCU and Michigan State.
Following their upset win over BCS No. 1 Oklahoma on Saturday, Missouri took a giant leap from 11th to 6th in this weeks BCS standings. The Tigers remain the only team in the BIG 12 Conference still undefeated.
Alabama, the highest ranked one-loss team, moved up one spot, to seventh from eighth. The Crimson Tide won convincingly over rival Tennessee in Week 8. Undefeated Utah is in eighth while Oklahoma and Wisconsin round out the BCS top-10.
Ohio State actually dropped one spot to 11th after being ranked 10th in the initial BCS poll. Their slippage had more to do with strength of schedule than performance on the field. The Buckeyes are followed by No. 12 LSU, who dropped from sixth, 13 Stanford, 14 Nebraska and 15 Arizona.
No. 16 Florida State is the highest ranked school from the Atlantic Coast Conference, followed by 17 Oklahoma State, 18 Iowa, 19 Arkansas and 20 South Carolina.
Mississippi State moves up to No. 21 and rounding out the BCS top-25 are 23 Virginia Tech,
24 Nevada, and 25 Baylor.
