Two college games making waves with Sportsbook.com college football bettors include two high-profile matchups: Ohio State at Penn State and California at Arizona State. Listed as four-point favorites, Ohio State is receiving 90% of bettors’ money as we close in on gameday. The top-rated team in the land, the Buckeyes are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games but they haven’t covered a spread in their last four journeys to Happy Valley.
“The way the trend has been I would have to take the points and go with Penn State in this one,” stated Point-Spreads.com College Football Expert Reno Goldberg when asked to comment on the Ohio State at Penn State Big Ten Showdown. “There are a few questionmarks on Ohio State right now. It will be interesting to see how they matchup here. Penn State is by far the best defense the Buckeyes will have faced this year.”
Sportsbook.com bettors obviously aren’t buying the Arizona State Sun Devils’ #7 ranking. Despite an undefeated record, only 26% of bettors have been willing to lay down money on the Sun Devils.
“This is surprising considering ASU is undefeated and ranked much higher,” Dave Staley, a spokesperson at Sportsbook.com. “Then again, Arizona State’s leading rusher, Ryan Torain, is done for the season so maybe this is why the public prefers Cal.”
Those banking on the injury to Torain should take note. Junior running back Keegan Herring has only 73 fewer rushing yards despite toting the rock 37 less times. Herring has racked up 480 rushing yards and is averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
