All hope looked lost for Connecticut after it fell to 2-4 following a 43-16 loss at West Virginia on October 8. The ugly setbackConnecticut vs Pittsburgh Spread 2011 CFB Predictions Week 9 marked the Huskies fourth loss in its last five games and it also represented a second consecutive game in which they had yielded 38 or more points.

Connecticut rebounded two Saturdays ago with an unexpected 16-10 win over South Florida at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. The Bulls outgained the Huskies 339 yards to 253 and they limited UConn to 118 rush yards on 48 carries; however, four turnovers and nine penalties by USF rescued Paul Pasqualoni's squad from a potentially back breaking defeat.

The manner in which the Huskies won has not inspired a great deal of confidence in their chances tonight. Pittsburgh's free fall does leave the possibility of an upset out there, though.

The 3-4 Panthers looked outstanding in a 44-17 drubbing of the aforementioned Bulls, but they have been wretched since that impressive win, losing to Rutgers and Utah 34-10 and 26-14 respectively. While the Rutgers loss looked worse on the scoreboard, the Utes game was about an ugly a loss as one will see. Pittsburgh was utterly inept against Utah, accounting for 120 total yards and an unbelievable 1.7 yards per pass in the non-conference dust up. Get $50 in Free CFB Picks Here.

The Utes also shut down Pitt's biggest offensive threat in running back Ray Graham. Graham tallied just 46 yards on 12 carries and 10 yards on three receptions in the pitiful effort.

Should the Panthers look as ill prepared tonight, even the wayward Huskies could rise up and steal one at Heinz Field.
