West Virginia vs Connecticut 2010 College Football Picks, 2010 College Football Predictions & 2010 College Football Odds: The West Virginia Mountaineers will make the trek north to Rentschler Field tomorrow to take on Big East rival Connecticut. The two teams, which are both coming off of losses, are scheduled to kick things off at 8:00pm ET on ESPN2. 2010 College Football Picks, Predictions & Odds at SBGglobal.com have the Mountaineers listed as a -6.5 against the spread road favorite; the Over/Under is set at 45.5.

West Virginia (5-2, 1-1 Big East) suffered a stunning 19-14 home loss last weekend to upstart Syracuse. While there is no West Virginia vs Connecticut 2010 College Football Picks, Predictions & Oddsmajor disgrace in losing to the Orange given the way they have played this season, it is certainly unexpected for a program like WVU, which has won four of its last five bowls, including the 2005 Sugar Bowl and 2007 Fiesta Bowl.

Quarterback Geno Smith had a lot to do with the setback as he completed just 20-of-37 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. The three picks negated a 284 to 246 yardage advantage as well as a 24 carry, 122 yard day from running back Noel Devine.

Smith's miserable outing also wiped out another stellar performance from the Mountaineers defense, which ranks fourth nationally in yards per game allowed (245.9). West Virginia gave up a meager 12 first downs to the Orange while also limiting them to 4.2 yards per pass.

Connecticut (3-4, 0-2 Big East), which came into the season with Big East title aspirations, lost its second straight game last Saturday, falling 26-0 to the Cardinals in Louisville.

The Huskies offense, as the score would suggest, had a horrific day, accounting for 11 first downs, 195 total yards, and three turnovers. Quarterbacks Zach Frazer and Michael Box combined for 87 pass yards and one interception on 20 attempts (10 completions), which led to 22:33 possession time for UConn.

The Huskies defense, which is giving up an average of 357 yards and 22.6 points per game this season, did a respectable job considering the amount of time they spent on the field (37:27). Louisville finished the game with 355 total yards and it scored just one offensive touchdown (two yard pass in the second quarter).

West Virginia has, by all accounts, owned this rivalry, as it comes into tomorrow's game riding a six game win streak against the Huskies. Not only have the Mountaineers beaten Connecticut, they have covered the spread in five of those six games; the lone exception being last season's 28-24 victory in which they were a 8.5 point home favorite.

College Football Predictions Betting Trend: West Virginia is 8-2 against the spread and 9-1 straight up in its last 10 games as a road favorite in the month of October.
