The loss was the second in a row for Jim Leavitt's troops as they lost to the Cincinnati Bearcats 17-34 at home the week before. USF is now 1-2 in Big East play and in fourth place in the league standings. The Bulls despearately need a win tomorrow evening to have any shot whatsoever at the conference title. If they lose, they will have been on the wrong side of the ledger against the three teams currently ahead of them in the standings.
The Bulls offense has had little firepower the last two weeks, scoring 31 points combined against the Bearcats and the Panthers. They will need to rediscover their scoring ways if they hope to out do a West Virginia team that is averaging 31.3 points and 420.9 yards per game. South Florida's defense will be tested by the run and pass combo of Jarrett Brown and Noel Devine. Brown has thrown for 1362 yards (67-percent completion percentage) and eight touchdowns while Devine has rushed for 912 yards (6.7 ypc) and 10 scores.
