College Football Odds 2011 Week 10

by Matt Foust on Monday, October 31st, 2011

College Football Odds 2011 Week 10: The top 10, which has been so strong against the number this season, has a disastrous weekend, going 2-5 against the spread and 4-3 straight up. The drop-off was not all that shocking as several top tier teams found themselves locked in battles with tough conference foes. Week 10 looks like it could feature more of the same with No. 1 LSU taking on No. 2 Alabama and No. 8 Arkansas facing No. 10 South Carolina. Other potential ATS slip up situations include No. 7 Oklahoma hosting Texas A&M and No. 3 Oklahoma State against No. 17 Kansas State.

No. 1 LSU Tigers vs No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (-4.5): The Tigers bring the top ranking into this matchup, but the odds College Football Odds 2011 Week 10maker feel that will help them little when they step on the field at Bryant Denny Stadium this weekend. LSU has been tough on the road, beating Mississippi State, West Virginia, and Tennessee by an average of 23.3 points per game, but none of those teams are Alabama. The Tide are 5-0 at home this season where their opposition has averaged a paltry 5.4 points per game.

No. 3 Oklahoma State vs No. 17 Kansas State (-20.5): Bill Synder's Wildcats saw their undefeated season come to an end last week as Oklahoma rolled into Manhattan and put a 58-17 whipping on them. Kansas State's inability to run the ball against the Sooners doomed their ball control approach and, consequently, left its defense exposed to OU's expolsive offense far too long. If the same thing happens in Stillwater this weekend, the result may even be worse for the Wildcats. However, the Cowboys defense is not quite on par with the Sooners, which leaves open a small window of opportunity for Kansas State to cover this lofty spread.
