College Football Picks Week 10: Last week did not pan out as Georgia Tech and Houston covered, but Connecticut fell on its face at home against Rutgers. It just goes to show that nothing is a guarantee. The Huskies had more yards, first downs, and third down conversions than the Scarlet Knights, but they also had 10 penalties and four turnovers, which doomed them to a 28-24 loss. Well, we return this week with another teaser parlay trio that should get us back in the win column. Eastern Michigan vs Northern Illinois (-21): Now history would favor the Eagles covering the spread here, but given how bad
Eastern Michigan is this season, we are going to throw history out the window. The Huskies are averaging 206 yards per game on the ground while the Eagles are giving up 277.1 rush yards per contest. Northern Illinois also has a pretty good defense and they will be matched up against an EMU offense that is producing 16.9 points per outing. NIU should win this thing going away as they still have something to play for, sitting at second place in the MAC West standings.
Eastern Michigan 17, Northern Illinois 45
Baylor vs Missouri (-16.5): Missouri won for the first time in over three weeks last Saturday, beating Colorado 33-17 in Boulder. The Bears, meanwhile, lost their fourth consecutive game (all in conference) over the weekend, falling at home 10-20 to Nebraska. Baylor has shown little to nothing since losing star quarterback Robert Griffin and not much should be expected of them this weekend on the road against a Tiger team that still has eyes on a Big 12 North title. The Bears have lost their last four games by an average of 19.25 points and they have averaged just 8.5 points per game during their current skid.
Baylor 13, Missouri 37
Florida State vs Clemson (-8.5): The Seminoles have won back-to-back games to get back in the Atlantic division picture; however, the Tigers are the best team FSU has faced since their October 10th meeting with Georgia Tech. And while the Noles have a winning road record at 2-1, Clemson is 4-1 at home. The Tigers offense should have no trouble putting points on the board against Florida State's pourous defense (29.8 points and 430 yards per game allowed) and Clemson's defense, which is holding its opposition to an average fo 16.5 points and 278 yards per game, should be able to slow Christian Ponder and company down.
Florida State 24, Clemson 41
A seven point teaser parlay with these three teams moves Northern Illinois to -14, Missouri to -9.5, and Clemson to -1.5. Best of luck this weekend.
