Kansas vs Kansas State College Football Picks Predictions: The Sunflower Showdown is set for this Saturday as the Kansas Jayhawks are in Manhattan, Kansas to take Big 12 rival Kansas State. The Jayhawks season officially came off the rails last weekend as they dropped their third straight game to fall to 5-3. Now there is certainly enough time for Kansas to get back on track, but with a 1-3 conference record and a fourth place standing in the Big 12 North, Mark Mangino's club needs to get things corrected starting this weekend in Manhattan. The Jayhawks have averaged 26.2 points per game since their conference schedule began on October 10th while giving up 36.7 points in return. 

Much has been made of quarterback Todd Reesing's status heading into this weekend's game with the Wildcats. Reesing has been the backbone of the KU offense over the last two and a half seasons, but his play of late has not lived up to his previous standard. Mangino actually benched the senior signal caller in last week's 21-42 loss at Texas Tech with plenty of time left in the fourth quarter. Many have speculated that Reesing is playing with some type of injury, but Mangino has downplayed that notion. Regardless, the coach has stated that Reesing will start Saturday's game against Kansas State.

The Wildcats have surprised almost everyone with their play of late, including last week's 30-42 loss at Oklahoma. Kansas State entered the game as a +28 against the spread dog, but trailed just 30-35 midway through the fourth quarter. The defeat dropped Bill Synder's squad to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in Big 12 action, a tally good enough for first place in the North division standings.

The Wildcats, despite their slide backwards during the Ron Prince era, have owned this series in Manhattan of late. Kansas State is 5-1 straight up and against the spread in their last six games versus Kansas in the Little Apple.
