Two seasons ago a one loss TCU squad rolled into Salt Lake City to face an undefeated Utah team. The Horned Frogs 
dominated the game statistically, posting 416 yards to the Utes 275, but two turnovers and 11 penalites doomed Gary Patterson's squad to a 13-10 loss. Utah went on to finish a perfect 13-0 after smashing No. 4 Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl.
This year the stakes are even higher as both teams come in undefeated, TCU at 9-0 and Utah at 8-0, and ranked No. 3 and 5, respectively, in the BCS standings. A loss for either team would spell certain doom for any National Championship hopes.
Both teams have several impressive victories with the Horned Frogs having stomped Oregon State, Baylor, and Air Force by a combined 75 points while Utes own wins over Pittsburgh, Iowa State, and Air Force.
From a statistical perspective TCU has the edge here, ranking 11th in yards per game (484.8), ninth in points per game (40.8), first in yards per game allowed (217.3), and first in points per game allowed (8.7). Utah is not far behind, though, ranking 20th in yards per game (449.6), third in points per game (45.3), sixth in yards per game allowed (267.8), and sixth in points per game allowed (14.1).
The Horned Frogs will also have an experience advantage at quarterback in tomorrow afternoon's clash. Andy Dalton is a battle tested senior who has thrown for 16 touchdowns and just five interceptions this season. While the Utes Jordan Wynn (162.41 passer rating, 13 touchdowns, six interceptions) is certainly a talented player, tomorrow's game will represent the biggest challenge of football life. How the sophomore signal caller handles that pressure could go a long way toward determining Saturday's winner.
