College Football Predictions 2011 Week 10: Week 10 BCS action got underway on Thursday with an ACC special between Florida State and Boston College and it continued last night with a Pac 12 tilt between USC and Colorado. It's all in this afternoon, though, with several BCS conference members sqauring off against league foes in hopes of avoiding a potentially devastating letdown. Two teams in that exact situation today are the Michigan Wolverines and the Oregon Ducks.
Michigan Wolverines vs Iowa Hawkeyes (+4): Michigan, which is tied for the Big Ten Legends
lead with Nebraska, used to have a strangle hold on this matchup, but the Hawkeyes have won two in a row and four of the last seven in the series. The Wolverines could and should snap that streak this afternoon as they are clearly superior to Iowa this season. The Hawkeyes, at 5-3, are no pushover, but the fact that they could lose to Minnesota, at any location, says something about the current state of affairs in Iowa City. The Wolverines, who played their first five games at the Big House, should be used to the road by now. Today's game marks Michigan's third road outing in the last four weeks.
Oregon Ducks vs Washington Huskies (+16.5): The 6-2 Huskies have yet to lose at home this season, but then again, they haven't faced a team even close to the caliber of Oregon at Husky Stadium. Washington's five home victories came against Eastern Washington, Hawaii, California, Colorado, and Arizona. It's two losses, which came against the two beast team's the club has faced (Nebraska, Stanford), came by an average of 28.5 points per game. Those numbers and Oregon's recent history against the Huskies point toward a Ducks blowout. The Ducks have won seven in a row against Washington, and, amazingly, the closest the Huskies have come to Oregon during that stretch is 20 points.
