The Horned Frogs ran their record to a perfect 8-0 last weekend, blistering UNLV 41-0 at Amon Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. TCU totalled an impressive 27 first downs and 578 yards of offense in the win, but the team's defensive effort was, perhaps, even more notable as they held the Rebels to seven first downs and 160 yards.

On the season, the Horned Frogs are limiting their opposition to an average of 11.1 points and 235.8 yards per game. However, they have yielded just 13 total points in their last three contests while posting 123. And, according to quarterback Andy Dalton, the team has some improving to do.

"We still haven't played our best game," Dalton said. "We still have a lot of things we can improve on...we have a lot of potential, hopefully we can put it together soon."

TCU will need to avoid the look ahead this weekend with a home game against second place Utah coming up on the 14th. The Utes handed Gary Patterson's troops their only conference loss last year, winning 13-10 in Salt Lake City.

The Aztecs come into this conference tilt sporting a 4-4 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Mountain West action. San Diego State has won two in a row and three of their last four games, but their last performance was a narrow 23-20 home victory over winless New Mexico. The Lobos, surprisingly, had more yards, more first downs, and fewer turnovers than the Aztecs but still could not finish the job.
