College Football Odds 2011 Week 11: Well, now that that's over…we can move on to another great weekend of college football action. The top 10 went 5-5 against the spread last weekend, but that number was skewed slightly with No.1 LSU facing No.2 Alabama and No. 8 Arkansas squaring off against No. 10 South Carolina. While there are several intriguing matchups on this weekend's docket, only two top ranked schools will meet as No. 7 Oregon heads to Palo Alto to challenge undefeated Stanford.
No. 7 Oregon Ducks vs No. 4 Stanford Cardinal (-3.5): Not only does Stanford win week in and week out, it also serves as
one of the best bets in the country, rountinely covering the number for its backers. While the Cardinal have faced a couple of quality opponents (i.e. Washington, USC), the ante gets upped this weekend in the form of Oregon. The Ducks, winners of eight straight, have only one loss and that came in the season opener against top ranked LSU. Oregon has also won eight of its last nine meetings with Stanford, including a 52-31 beating in Eugene last year. If Andrew Luck and company can pull off the win here, they will probably get the cover as well, but that's a big if.
No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide vs Mississippi State Bulldogs (+17): With No.1 LSU essentially getting the weekend off (Western Kentucky), all eyes will be on the Crimson Tide to see how they rebound from Saturday's gut-wrenching overtime loss. Alabama will not have to face a juggernaut in its bounce-back bid, but it doesn't get a pushover either as the Bulldogs are usually a tough out in Starkville. The Tide have won three in a row in this series, though, and by an average of 24.3 points per game; more of the same should be expected this weekend.
