No. 10 Virginia Tech sports an impressive 8-1 record, but something about this Hokie seems a little off. Schools the FrankVirginia Tech vs Georgia Tech Spread 2011 College Football Picks Beamer's squad used to routinely dominate are now giving it trouble. One need look no further than Tech's last game, an October 29th meeting with Duke in Durham. The Hokies won the game 14-10, but the four point difference marked the closest the Blue Devils had gotten to Tech since a 21-22 loss in October of 1982.

Despite the perceived regression, the Hokies are still averaging 428.1 yards per game while giving up just 298.3 per contest (12th in the FBS). Virginia Tech also ranks sixth in the nation in points per game allowed at 15.4, and, perhaps more importantly for tomorrow's game, is giving up just 86.3 yards per game on the ground.

It's no secret what Paul Johnson's Yellow Jackets want to do on offense. Georgia Tech's triple option attack has yielded the nation's second best ground attack with the team averaging 328 rush yards per game.

The 7-2 Yellow Jackets, who sit a game back of the Hokies in the Coastal Division with a 4-2 league record, are also back on track after dropping back-to-back road games to Virginia and Miami. Georgia Tech blasted No. 9 Clemson 31-17 on October 29th at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets produced 443 total yards against the Tigers as junior quarterback Tevin Washington threw for 60 yards on nine attempts and rushed for 176 yards and one touchdown. Georgia Tech's 36th ranked defense held Clemson to 95 rush yards and forced four turnovers in the critical victory.

While the Hokies have won three of the last four in this series, Georgia Tech, which has yet to lose at home this season, pulls off the mild upset tomorrow night.
