Regardless of the unimposing nature of the victory, it still improved West Virginia's record to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Big East play.
The No. 25 Mountaineers are in third place in the conference standings entering tomorrow night's game, but they could still have a chance at the league title with Pittsburgh and Rutgers coming up after the Bearcats.
No. 5 Cincinnati ran its record to 9-0 last Saturday, getting by the UConn Huskies 47-45 at Nippert Stadium. The win was the Bearcats closest of the season as they scored the go ahead touchdown with just 5:03 left in the game. The tight victory preserved Cincinnati's first place standing in the Big East, but they do not have any room for slippage with the Pitt Panthers sharing their 5-0 conference record. The two teams will wrap up their respective seasons against each other on December 5th.
Sophomore quarterback Zach Collaros, who has filled in brilliantly for the injured Tony Pike, will get the start tomorrow. Callaros has completed 76-percent of his passes this year while throwing for 1229 yards and 10 touchdowns.
