Northwestern vs. Illinois College Football Picks: Bragging rights for the State of Illinois are at stake on Saturday when the Northwestern Wildcats travel down to Champaign to play the University of Illinois Fighting Illini in a BIG TEN game at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff time for this ESPN-Classic televised game is set for Noon ET.

College football picks oddsmakers at Bodog.com list the Illini as 5-chalk favorites with a 48 total. Cats backers are getting +170 odds on the Bodog moneyline while Illinois is giving -200.

Illinois is trying to play catch-up after enduring a terrible start losing six of its first seven games, and putting head coach Ron Zook's job on the line. The Illini have now won two straight and are half way to bowl qualification with three games to go. While getting bowl qualified will be difficult for the Illini, a win over the Wildcats today would give the team needed confidence going into their final games versus Cincinnati and  Fresno State.

Northwestern, already bowl qualified with six wins and 6-4 record overall, is coming off an impressive 17-10 road victory over previously ranked BCS No. 4 Iowa  in week 10. Getting a win for the Cats will be more than bragging rights but for better bowl position. The Wildcats covered the 14-point spread, while the final score played UNDER the day's posted total of 45.
