The No. 16 (BCS) University of Hawai'i Warriors football team will make its final road trip of the season this week, when it travels to Reno to play Nevada, Friday, in a nationally televised game on ESPN2. The Warriors (9-0, 6-0 WAC) bring with them a 10-game game win streak, the longest current streak in the nation, into the Western Athletic Conference battle.
Hawai'i is 0-3 all-time against Nevada in Reno having lost by an average of 9.3 points per game. The Wolf Pack (5-4, 3-2 WAC) enter the game with nearly two weeks of rest after a 40-38 victory at New Mexico State, Nov. 2. Nevada has won its last three games and is fourth in the WAC standings.
The game will feature two of the most efficient passers in the country in Heisman Trophy candidate Colt Brennan (fifth nationally, 161.2) and Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick (10th, 155.0).
Oddsmakers at online sports wagering giant Bodog (Bodoglife.com) currently have the Warriors listed as 6½-point favorites versus the Wolf Pack, while the game's total is sitting at 78.
Colt Brennan threw for 396 yards and two touchdowns last time out as the Warriors knocked off the Fresno State Bulldogs by a final score of 37-30.
The Warriors, however, failed to cover the 19.5-point spread in that contest, while the combined score fell UNDER the posted total (72.5).
Nevada racked up 521 yards in Week 9's 40-38 win at New Mexico State, failing to cover the 6.5-point road spread. The 78 points scored were OVER the posted total of 69.
Colin Kaepernick was 15-for-28 for 237 yards, three touchdowns and a pick, while running for 136 yards and two scores for the Wolf Pack.
