College Football Week 12 Odds: Better known for its rivaly games, college football week 12 odds week is upon us but there is something lacking from the traditional build up preceding the week. You know things are amiss when Ohio State heads to Ann Arbor to play its annual hate game with Michigan, and is a near two touchdown favorite. Also this week we have the nations No. 8  ranked BCS team, LSU, travelling to play unranked Ole Miss and getting four points as a road dog. Actually, Week 12 should be labeled 'Rivalry Week Part 1' as many of the traditional games are strung out over the next couple of weeks.

As you have probably noticed for college football odds week 12, the Ohio State/Michigan game is no big deal in 2009. The BIG TEN championship usually hangs on the winner of this game. Well, the Buckeyes have already clinched the conference championship via their win over Iowa in Week 11 while the Wolverines will not go bowling at all unless they beat the Buckeyes. There is the slight hint of a trap for OSU providing they don't take the Maize and Blue seriously.

The Sportsbetting.com line on the OSU/Michigan game has been sliding all over the board since opening with the Buckeyes giving -13. It has dropped as low as -11, but has climbed back  to -12 as of Tuesday. You know Michigan will give the Buckeyes their best shot in this game. Gamblers should think twice before jumping on the Ohio State bandwagon in this one.

Only one head-to-head top-25 BCS matchup is featured this week and we head way out west to the Pac-10 in order to find it with No. 25 California visiting No.17 Stanford. While this rivalry does not get the national attention as does Ohio State/Michigan, it is no less intense. Both teams have plenty to play for in this one. Cal is trying to overcome injury and other set backs to strenghten its bowl position while Stanford still has an outside shot of winning a share of the Pac 10 title. Both teams are coming off wins last weekend, as Stanford defeated previously 11th-ranked USC, 55-21 while Cal scored a 24-16 victory over Arizona. The Cardinal have won three straight but have dropped six out of the last seven games to Cal. Sportsbetting.com has Stanford lined as a 7-chalk favorite in this one.

Other Pac-10 action drawing national interest has Oregon, currently in the conference drivers seat, heading down to Tucson, Ariz., to play the Arizona Wildcats. This game has trap written all over it if Arizona can catch the Ducks looking ahead to their civil war battle with Oregon State in two weeks. The Ducks are lined at Sportsbetting.com as -6 point road favorites here.

In the SEC LSU and Ole Miss will take center stage with league heavy hitters, No. 1 Florida taking on Florida International (FL by -45) and Alabama playing an FCS level program in UT-Chattanooga before their Iron Bowl battle with Auburn in Week 13. The Rebels are lined as 4-chalk favorites in this one. Also in the SEC Unranked Arkansas will showcase its top SEC offense against the improving Mississippi State Bulldogs up in Fayetteville, Ark. The Razorbacks are listed on the Sportsbetting board as 10 point favorites in this game.

What good is a weekend preview without discussing Notre Dame. While we are in the business of discussing betting odds, it's no secret that things aren't very cozy in South Bend these days. The Irish are coming off back-to-back losses to Navy and Pittsburgh and face a stubborn Connecticut Huskies team in Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday. Sportsbetting.com has the Irish favored by -6 in this must win game. If the Irish lose this one they could be looking at a four game losing streak knowing they must face a superior Stanford Cardinal team in Week 13.

The Big 12 will get things going in a Thursday night ESPN affair with the struggling Colorado Buffaloes visiting Stillwater, Okla., to play the No. 12 Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Pokes are 18-chalk favorites versus Colorado on the Sportsbetting board.

No. 3 Texas is expected to win big over the visiting Kansas Jayhawks, lined at Sportsbetting as -27 1/2  favorites. There are plenty of distractions in the KU program with a reported player revolt. The Longhorns should win big in this one.

While hanging out with the Big 12, we must finish with discussing the Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech game. At the beginning of this season who would have thought both these teams would be no more than an after thought at seasons end. While both will go bowling, neither is getting the national attention they have become accustomed too. Sportsbetting.com has installed the Sooners as -6 1/2 point road favorites.
