2009 Heisman Trophy Odds: We have never seen a college football season where the hype preceding the Heisman Trophy balloting has been so muffled. And we have never seen a year when there was more 2009 Heisman Trophy odds pre-season chatter either. This 2009 season was the first where we had two returning Heisman Trophy winners in Tim Tebow of Florida (2007) and Sam Bradford last year. Each week Sportsbook.com releases a new set of 2009 Heisman Trophy odds and media pundits list their favorites but the truth is - nobody really knows who's going to get it when the trophy is awarded on December 12. Ok, there is a list of favorites and the current list looks nothing like the one in early September. If the Heisman Trophy was awarded today, just prior to Week 12's games, Alabama running back Mark Ingram would get the hardware. Ingram is first according to heismanpundit.com, the recognized leader in pre-heisman voting, and online sports gambling house Sportsbook.com. Ingram is currently listed at EVEN (+100) odds to win at Sportsbook.com. Ingram isn't an overwhelming favorite, with Houston quarterback Case Keenum and Texas' quarterback Colt McCoy both at +300 odds. However, Heisman Pundit has Keenum eighth in its poll. Tim Tebow, the pre-season favorite has the third best betting odds at +350 but is fifth on the Heisman Pundit list behind running back C.J. Spiller of Clemson. Spiller is not even listed on the Sportsbook.com Heisman Trophy board. Stanford running back Toby Gerhart is flying up the Heisman Pundit poll listed at No. 3, but gamblers aren't convinced having installed the playmaker with +1500 longshot odds. Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore is also listed at +1500 odds on the Sportsbook board. Heisman Pundit has Moore in sixth place. California running back Jacquizz Rodgers is currently last on the Sportsbook board at +2500 odds and is not ranked by Heisman Pundit. Rodgers was the top-rated tailback in pre-season.
