Connecticut vs Notre Dame College Football Predictions Picks: The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are set to take on the Big East's Connecticut Huskies in South Bend, Indiana tomorrow afternoon. The Irish, which have lost back-to-back games, will attempt to stay in the hunt for a quality bowl game and, possibly, preserve Head Coach Charlie Weis' job. The Huskies come into this contest having lost three straight games. They last played on November 11th when they took the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats to the wire at Nippert Stadium before falling 45-47. Connecticut's offense had a banner day, amassing 24 first downs, 462 total yards, and five second half touchdowns.

Quarterback Zach Frazer completed 19-of-32 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown in the loss, but it was sophomore Jordan Todman that really shined in defeat. Todman had 26 carries for 162 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Unfortunately for Huskies fans, the UConn defense got ran over by the Bearcats offense, which racked up 27 first downs and an eye popping 711 yards.

Connecticut, as a result of the loss, is 4-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Huskies are completely out of the Big East picture as they currently rank sixth in the eight team league with just three games left on the schedule.

The Irish fell to 6-4 last weekend, losing to the Pitt Panthers 22-27 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Notre Dame offense had a respectable day, accumulating 20 first downs and 349 total yards, but they were unable to overcome two turnovers. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen completed 27-of-43 passes for 283 yards, a touchdown and one interception in defeat. Clausen mostly targeted wideouts Golden Tate and Michael Floyd as the pair combined for 16 receptions, 220 yards, and one touchdown.

Notre Dame desperately needs a win tomorrow to have any chance at all at a decent bowl game. Three straight losses could easily become four with a game at Stanford to close out the season. At 6-6 the Irish might get a bowl invite, but they would probably be appearing in it without Charlie Weis.
