College Football Point Spreads 2011 Week 13: It is rivalry week for a number of college football teams and, per usual, that means several ranked schools have a lot on the line. Alabama, Virginia Tech, Stanford, and Oregon are just a few squads looking to stay in the BCS mix when the action kicks off later this weekend. But some of the best rivalries, at least from a monetary perspective, sometimes feature less than elite competition. That is certainly the case in Saturday's meeting between Missouri and Kansas as the lowly Jayhawks attempt to saddle the Tigers with a loss in what could be their final meeting on the gridiron.
Missouri Tigers vs Kansas Jayhawks (+23): The border rivalry, the oldest in the nation west of Mississippi, is in danger with
the Tigers moving to the SEC next season, so, each team will want to make a good showing and go out on top. In the case of the 2-9 Jayhawks, that may be difficult to do. Kansas was absolute gold in the middle portion of the season for those willing to go against them as odds makers seemingly could not create a spread large enough for its opposition. Between weeks three and nine the 2-9 Jayhawks covered just one time and that came in a 47-17 home loss to Oklahoma. They appeared to have things headed in a better direction in recent weeks, losing 13-10 at Iowa State and 31-30 to Baylor as a +14 and +20 underdog respectively. However, the old Kansas team raised its head in last week's meeting with Texas A&M as the Aggies pounded out a 61-7 victory. More of the same should be on tap this weekend at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The Tigers are an up and down team of sorts, but they are far superior to Kansas, and if Gary Pinkel's troops show up to play, they will destroy the Jayhawks. Trend to consider: Kansas is 0-10 straight up and 2-8 against the spread in its last 10 games a dog with a spread between 21 and 24.5.
