Texas A&M vs Texas 2010 College Football Picks, 2010 College Football Odds & 2010 College Football Predictions: The No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies will head to Austin this Thanksgiving to take on arch rival Texas at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Big 12 South showdown is scheduled to kickoff at 8:00pm ET tomorrow night on ESPN. 2010 College Football Picks, Odds & Predictions at BetUS.com have the Aggies listed as a -3.5 against the spread road favorite; the Over/Under is set at 47.5.
The Aggies enter this game with a touch of role reversal as they find themselves, rather than the Longhorns, fighting for a ti
e for the top spot in the Big 12 South. Texas A&M looked well on its way to another mediocre season at the halfway point, sitting at 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play, but it has won five consecutive games since falling 30-9 at home to No. 14 Missouri.
The Aggies streak, which has coincided with the move to Ryan Tannehill at quarterback, includes victories over two top 10 teams in Oklahoma and Nebraska. The Cornhuskers were the latest to fall victim to Mike Sherman's rejuvenated squad, losing 9-6 on Saturday in College Station.
The Aggies limited Nebraska to 15 first downs and 306 total yards as Taylor Martinez threw for 107 yards and rushed for just 17 on 11 carries. Tannehill failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time since he assumed the starting role, but he played a solid game nonetheless, completing 19-of-29 passes for 172 yards and zero interceptions.
Texas snapped a four game losing streak its last time out, pasting non-conference foe Florida Atlantic 51-17 in Austin. Despite the win, Mack Brown's Longhorns are buried in the Big 12 South cellar with a 5-6 overall mark and a 2-5 conference tally.
Clearly Texas lost its enthusiasim for this season quite some time ago, but it can still earn a bowl berth with a win over the hated Aggies tomorrow night. Brown will, no doubt, have his team focused on that fact before it takes the field; however, with A&M being the opponent, the coach may not need to summon any extra motivation.
Still, regardless of any rivalry incentives or anything else, quarterback Garrett Gilbert must avoid the costly turnover in order for the Longhorns to have a chance against the Aggies. Gilbert has nine touchdowns to 15 interceptions (10 of which he tossed during Texas' four game skid – all against Big 12 schools) this season.
College Football Predictions Betting Trend: The Longhorns are 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last seven home games against the Aggies.
