If they can beat the Aggies and then get past Nebraska next Saturday, they will, most likely, meet either Alabama or Florida in Pasadena on January 7th.
Texas A&M comes into this holiday special with a 6-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Big 12 action. The Aggies snapped a two game skid the last time they took the field, beating the Baylor Bears 38-3 in College Station. Quarterback Jerrod Johnson had another outstanding day as he completed 19 of his 25 pass attempts for 153 yards and two touchdowns. He also contributed to the Aggies 375 rush yards with a 16 carry 83 yard effort on the ground (one rushing touchdown). Texas A&M finished the game with 26 first downs and 528 yards of offense.
The Aggies are already bowl eligible with six wins, but a victory over Texas would certainly sweeten the number of offers coming in. Texas A&M did beat the Longhorns the last time the two teams locked horns at Kyle Field, scoring a 38-30 win in November of 2007.
