Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma College Football Predictions Picks

by Matt Foust on Friday, November 27th, 2009

Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma College Football Predictions Picks: The Bedlam Series continues tomorrow afternoon in Norman, Oklahoma; however, there has been a little bit of role reversal this season as the Cowboys are the team vying for a BCS Bowl game. Kickoff between the two in-state and conference rivals is set for 12:30pm ET tomorrow at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. College Football Predictions Picks at Sportsbetting.com have the Sooners listed as a -8 against the spread home favorite.

The Cowboys won their third straight game last weekend to improve to 9-2 overall and 6-1 in Big 12 play. Despite four Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma College Football Predictions Picksturnovers and the absence of starting quarterback Zac Robinson, the Pokes were able to get past the Colorado Buffaloes 31-28 in Stillwater. The ground game churned out 232 yards at 4.7 yards per carry in the win, which helped make up for the lack of Robinson's presence. Senior running back Keith Toston led the team with 30 carries for 172 yards and a touchdown; he also had two receptions for 45 yards and a score.

Oklahoma State, given their ranking and overall record, would figure to be the favorite coming into this contest, but the close call against the Buffaloes, coupled with the fact that the Cowboys have lost six in a row to the Sooners, has odds makers and the betting public siding with Oklahoma. That sentiment has not seemed to bother Mike Gundy's squad.

"We're not going to expect to be favored down there just because of what we've done this year," linebacker Andre Sexton said. "We know that they're going to get respect just because of what they've done in the past and how well-known their program is. That's why we need to put ourselves in a situation to take that next step toward gaining that respect by beating them this year."

Oklahoma's dismal season reached rock-bottom last Saturday as the Texas Tech Red Raiders blasted the Sooners 41-13 in Lubbock. The loss was the second in the Sooners last three games and dropped their record to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Oklahoma's defense, which has been stellar most of the year, got burned repeatedly by the Red Raiders offense. Mike Leach's squad finished the game with 32 first downs and 549 total yards; they also converted 8-of-17 third downs and held the ball for 37:01.

While OU is almost certain to get a bowl invite, even with a loss tomorrow, Coach Stoops indicated the Sooners intend to put their best foot forward against the Cowboys.

"Our focus will be playing the best we can and trying to make our situation better," Stoops said.

Game Note: Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson is scheduled to start against Oklahoma tomorrow afternoon.

College Football Predictions Picks Betting Trend: Oklahoma State is 0-6 straight up and against the spread in its last six games as a road dog with a spread between 8 and 10.5.
