The Texas Longhorns will spend this Thanksgiving night trying to earn their way into the Big 12 Championship Game and preserve their number two rank in the BCS standings. The Aggies of Texas A&M will try to end their sour season on a high by spoiling the Longhorns fun. The old rivals square off at 8:00pm ET tonight on ABC.
College football betting odds at BetUS.com are not giving the Aggies much of a chance as they are listed as +35 road dogs.
The Longhorns are having a great season and sitting at 10-1 they still have a shot to win the Big 12 title as well as BCS National Championship. They will need a win tonight preserve both of those opportunities. If it goes anything like their last outing, they should be fine. Back on the 15th of November Texas took out the Jayhawks 35-7 in Lawrence, KS.
The Texas offense, led by Heisman candidate Colt McCoy, is averaging 43.5 points and 471 yards per game.
Texas A&M Head Coach Mike Sherman has not a memorable first season with the Aggies. The once vaunted college football powerhouse began falling before Sherman arrived, but they may have hit rock bottom this year. Their 4-7 record and 2-5 conference mark have them positioned dead last in the Big 12 South standings.
Tonight's skirmish will be the closest thing the Aggies have to a bowl game. If they can make a solid showing, it may buy Sherman a little good grace headed into next season.
College Football Betting Trend: The Texas Longhorns are 8-2 straight up as a home favorite versus Big 12 competition.
