Nebraska at Colorado College Football Picks: Nebraska, already having clinched the BIG 12 North Division and a spot in next week's title game, must travel to Boulder, Colo., to play their final regular season game versus the Buffaloes. This game is half a rivalry – meaning it's much bigger in the minds of Colorado faithful than to Nebraska players and backers. None the less, Nebraska needs a win in this game, one that has the makings of a trap game.
We (Point-Spreads.com) expect the Buffs to come out loose and feisty for this game. It was announced this week that embattled head coach Dan Hawkins would be granted another year to run the program. This announcement takes pressure off the team as they prepare to play the Huskers. Combine that with the fact that Nebraska is already the North Division champion and will face Texas next week in the BIG 12 Championship game.
Nebraska, at 8-3 SU and 7-4 ATS, has won four straight games while Colorado is 3-8 but respectable ATS going 6-5. The Cornhuskers are 4-1 SU in its last five games on the road and are 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall.
The Buffaloes are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games when playing Nebraska and is 6-3 ATS in their last nine games overall. Colorado is 8-4 in its last dozen games at home.
The Nebraska defense was solid in not allowing a TD, as they went on to defeat Kansas State 17-3 in Week 12. Nebraska could not cover the 16.5-point spread, while the 20 points went UNDER the posted total of 45. Roy Helu carried the ball 95 yards with a TD.
Colorado dropped a 31-28 decision to Oklahoma State in Week 12 as a 17.5-point underdog. That game's 59 points sailed OVER the posted total of 47.5. Tyler Hansen completed 23-of-37 for 172 yards with a pair of TD passes for Colorado.
