College Football Picks: Boston College Eagles vs Virginia Tech Hokies in ACC Championship Game

The Virginia Tech Hokies (10-2) and Boston College Eagles (10-2) will meet for the second time this season when they clash at 1 p.m. ET (ABC) in the ACC Championship Game Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla. In the first meeting back on Oct. 25 in Blacksburg, Va.,then 2nd-ranked Boston College scored two touchdowns in the final 2:11 of play to claim a 14-13 come from behind victory. Since then, Virginia Tech has won four straight games.BC enters on a two-game winning streak. 

Virginia Tech is playing in the Championship Game for the 2nd time in three years.The Hokies lost to Florida State, 27-22, in the inaugural contest in 2005.Boston College is playing in its first ACC title game.BC is 6-3 against Coastal Division teams.The Hokies are 7-3 against the Atlantic Division including the 2005 ACC Championship Game. 

The game presents the irresistible force of BC’s passing offense which is ranked 7th in the nation against Virginia Tech’s defense which is ranked 2nd nationally in scoring and 4th in total defense. The winner heads to the FedEx Orange Bowl.
