Ohio's upset of the Owls vaulted them into first place in the MAC's East Division, giving the Bobcats just their second chance at the conference championship. Solich guided the team to the 2006 title game, which they lost 10-31 to Central Michigan.
Central Michigan will be chasing its third MAC crown when things kick off tomorrow night in Detroit. The Chippewas captured the conference title in 2006 with the aforementioned win over Ohio and in 2007 with a 35-10 victory against Miami.
Butch Jones' squad, which is captained by senior quarterback Dan LeFevour, cruised through conference play this season, going a perfect 8-0 and winning by an average of 22.6 points per game. They closed out the regular portion of their schedule with a 45-31 win over Northern Illinois last Friday.
