Navy vs Army Betting Odds

by Matt Foust on Saturday, December 6th, 2008

The Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights will face each other today for the 109th time. The next chapter in this storied rivalry will be written at 12:00pm ET in Philadelphia, PA. Navy leads the all-time series 52-49-7 and has owned the Black Knights of late, winning the last six meetings and 10 of the last 12. College football betting odds at SBGglobal.com are favoring the Midshipmen to again capture the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy at -11.Navy vs Army Betting Odds

Navy is having another solid football season and if they can take out the Black Knights today, it will mark the sixth year in a row that they have recorded at least eight wins. Last week the Middies shut out the Northern Illinois Huskies 16-0 to move their record to 7-4.

First year Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo has continued Navy's running tradition; the Midshipmen have averaged 292 rushing yards per game, which has translated into a 27.3 point per game average. Their option attack has been led by quarterback Ricky Dobbs (4.7 yards per carry, eight touchdowns) and running back Shun White (8.3 yards per carry, seven touchdowns).

The Black Knights have not had much football success in recent seasons, and this year has been no different. Army is just 3-8 entering today's game and they will need a win to best last season's 3-9 finish. Stan Brock's squad was defeated 30-3 by Rutgers in their last game, and they have now lost three straight.

The Army rushing attack is similar to Navys, but despite amassing over 250 yards per game on the ground, the Knights have managed to produce an average of just 16.1 points per game.

College Football Betting Trend: Army is 0-9 straight up since 2002 when playing as an underdog with a total between 44.5 and 47.

SBGglobal.com's Navy vs Army Betting Odds:

Navy -11 (-110), Over 44.5 (-110)

Army +11 (-110), Under 44.5 (-110)
