Florida vs Cincinnati 2010 Sugar Bowl Game Opening Point Spread: The Florida Gators and the Cincinnati Bearcats will square off against each other in the Sugar Bowl at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Florida had its eyes on a second consecutive National Championship when the season began and it almost got a shot at 
making that goal a reality. Almost. The Gators stormed through the regular season, going 12-0 and winning the SEC East with an 8-0 conference record. However, their lofty hopes were dashed when they got rolled by the Crimson Tide 13-32 in the SEC Championship Game last weekend.
The devastating loss dropped Urban Meyer's squad to No. 5 in the BCS standings and relegated them to the Sugar Bowl, a game the Gators have not played in since 1997 when they beat Florida State 52-20.
According to Meyer, the team is pleased to be facing an opponent the calibur of Cincinnati and that it will put its best foot forward come January 1st.
"Our guys talk about Cincinnati," Meyer said. "The Gators will be highly motivated to play in this game."
Cincinnati comes into this game with an undefeated 12-0 record, but they will also enter it without Head Coach Brian Kelly. Kelly, after three years with the Bearcats, has accepted the Notre Dame job, leaving bowl coaching duties to offensive coordinator Jeff Quinn. Kelly compiled a 34-6 record in his time at Cincinnati and guided the team to two Big East titles and back-to-back BCS bowl games.
The Bearcats secured their second consecutive Big East crown with a season finale 45-44 win at Pittsburgh. Cincinnati had a number of close calls down the stretch, winning their last three conference games (Connecticut, West Virginia, and Pitt) by a combined six points.
