Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State Buckeyes vs Texas Longhorns (-9.5, O/U 53.5)
This Big 10 versus Big 12 showdown will take place on Monday, January 5th at 8:00pm ET at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona (FOX). The Longhorns come into this contest with an 11-1 record and a third place BCS ranking. However, they finished in third place in the Big 12 South division behind Oklahoma and Texas Tech, despite all three schools having the same record. Texas has scored an average of 43.9 points per game this season while allowing just 18.6 per game.
The Buckeyes are 10-2 entering the Fiesta Bowl, and they ended the season in second place in the Big 10 standings. Ohio State, whose only losses came against USC and Penn State, is currently number 10 in the BCS rankings. Jim Tressel's team has held opponents to a meager 13.1 point per game average.
Allstate Sugar Bowl: Utah Utes vs Alabama Crimson Tide (-10.5, O/U 45.5)
Alabama teased an undefeated season as well as a spot in the BCS National Championship Game, but they could not overcome the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship. The 12-1 Crimson Tide will make their way to the Big Easy instead for a January 2nd meeting with the Mountain West's Utah Utes in the Sugar Bowl. The game is set to kick off at 8:00pm ET and will be televised on FOX.
Utah has had an incredible season, becoming this year's BCS busting school as a result of their 12-0 record. The Utes, while a heavy dog to Alabama, have posted some impressive numbers this year, scoring more than 37 per game and allowing just 17.
