2009 Heisman Trophy Race: Texas quarterback Colt McCoy's chances of winning the Heisman Trophy are slim according to oddsmakers at online sportsbook Bodog.com. McCoy, who started the 2009 college football campaign as the Heisman favorite, has been overtaken according to the odds. McCoy, the 2008 runner up to Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford had a phenomenal game on Thanksgiving day with 479 yards of total offense leading Texas to a 49-39 win over arch-rival Texas A&M. McCoy briefly took the lead in the Heisman race but probably relinquished it after a lackluster performance in the Longhorns narrow victory over Nebraska in the Big 12 title game when he was sacked nine times.
McCoy had outstanding numbers on the year completing 70.5 percent of his passes for 3512 yards and 27 touchdowns with only 12 interceptions.
McCoy was also Texas' second leading rusher with 368 yardsd and two touchdowns.
