Wyoming vs. Fresno State College Football Picks – 2009 New Mexico Bowl: Wyoming and Fresno State officially kick off The 2010 college football bowl season at 4:35 pm ET today when the two schools meet in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. The New Mexico Bowl matches opponents from the Western Athletic and Mountain West conferences. Fresno State (8-4) finished third in the WAC while Wyoming (6-6) placed fifth in the MWC.
The Bulldogs started 1-3 this season, but won seven of their last eight to reach the New Mexico Bowl. The Cowboys, meanwhile, started 1-2, then won three in a row, then lost three in a row, then won two of their last three to earn their first bowl bid in five years.
The Bulldogs are playing in the New Mexico bowl for the second straight year and would like to erase memories of last years 40-35 loss at the hands of Colorado State. Wyoming will be playing its first bowl since 1984.
