Emerald Bowl Picks: Maryland vs Oregon StateFriday’s Emerald Bowl has an inconsistent Maryland team taking on an Oregon State team that won six of their last seven games. Maryland hasn’t played a team from the Pac-10 since 1982. The Terps played in close games nearly every week this season, winning most of them early but losing most of them late. SBG Global reports that early college football betting has the public taking Oregon State at Home.

Emerald Bowl Betting Preview
Maryland (6-6) vs. Oregon State (8-4)
Friday, 8:30 pm Eastern – ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Oregon State  – 4.5, Total 48.5

Maryland has a nice duo at running back as Keon Lattimore and Lance Ball give the Terps a threat on the ground.  They will need to run the ball because the Maryland quarterbacks were very inconsistent this season.  Coach Ralph Friedgen said that his team had a great practice earlier this week, particularly the defense. "I think our defense has probably practiced better than our offense [this week]," he said. "Today was good except for the two-minute drill at the end. I thought we were fairly sharp on offense today, till the very end when I thought our defense had a little more intensity than our offense."

SBG Global Current Line: Oregon State  – 4.5, Total 47

Oregon State has had to deal with injuries this season including losing quarterback Sean Canfield who missed the last three games of the year. Running back Yvenson Bernard missed two of the Beavers’ last four games but is expected to start on Friday. Backup quarterback Lyle Moevao played well for the Beavers in the finale against Oregon and is ready for Maryland. The Oregon State defense is led by linebacker Derrick Doggett and defensive ends Victor Butler and Slade Norris who combined for 18.5 sacks.
