Rose Bowl Early Betting Trends

Rose Bowl Early Betting TrendsMost fans think the Trojans are going to steamroll the Illini in this 2008 Rose Bowl matchup . It's possible, but don't discount the Illini. Illinois has won four straight games leading up to the Rose Bowl and is the only team to defeat Ohio State this college football season.

"Ron Zook has done a great job at Illinois" said Point-Spreads.com College Football handicapper Reno Goldberg. "However, Illinois was able to take advantage of what I perceive as a weaker Big 10 this year. I think  Southern Cal will win this game handily."

USC vs. Illinois

SportsBetting.com Line: USC -13.5 (Over/Under 50)

It’s all SoCal and the “Over” in this one. Bettors like the Trojans to the tune of 80% of all volume bet on the matchup…and the Over” 50 is seeing 90% action.

Numbers of Note: Southern California has a record of 4-1 against the spread the last five years in their bowl games. Only once in the last five years have they combined to score less than 50 points in a bowl game (although they landed right on 50 in 2003).
