The Cincinnati native connected with fellow senior, wideout Freddie Barnes, 138 times for 1551 yards and 16 scores. Barnes 138 receptions and 16 receiving touchdowns were tops in the FBS this year.
Idaho, a team many projected to finish dead last in the WAC (like it did in 2007 and 2008), shocked friend and foe alike by putting together its first winning season since 1999. The Vandals went 7-5, despite closing out the regular season with three straight losses, and finished fourth in the WAC standings with a 4-4 conference record. The solid season garnered Idaho just its second bowl bid ever. Coincidently, the Vandals only previous postseason appearance came in the 1998 Humanitarian Bowl, which it won 42-35 over Southern Mississippi.
The Vandals are also a pass happy squad, averaging over 290.6 yards per game through the air. Junior quarterback Nathan Enderle, despite missing two starts, threw for 2666 yards and 18 touchdowns this year.
