Houston vs Air Force 2009 Armed Forces Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds: The high scoring Houston Cougars will take on the MWC's Air Force Falcons tomorrow afternoon in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl. The two schools met in last year's Armed Forces Bowl as well with the Cougars scoring a 34-28 victory. Kickoff is set for 12pm ET at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN. 2009 Armed Forces Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds at online bookmaker SPORTSBETTING.com have Houston listed as a -4.5 against the spread favorite.

The Houston Cougars spent a good portion of the season ranked in the Top 25, but two losses in their final four games Houston vs Air Force 2009 Armed Forces Bowl Picks, Predictions & Oddsdropped them out of the polls. Still, Kevin Sumlin's squad put together a fantastic 10-3 record and finished first in the Conference USA's West Division with a 6-2 league record. The Cougars last played on December 5th, losing 32-38 to East Carolina in the CUSA Championship Game.

Tomorrow's bowl contest will mark the fifth consecutive postseason appearance for Houston. Unfortunately for the Cougars they have not fared well in bowl games of late, going just 1-8 in their last nine. However, the school is 1-0 under second year coach Sumlin, who was on the sidelines for last season's Armed Forces Bowl victory.

Air Force had another solid season under third year Head Coach Troy Calhoun, going 7-5 overall and 5-3 in conference action to finish fourth in the Mountain West behind TCU, BYU, and Utah. The Falcons played well down the stretch, winning three straight game before falling 21-38 at Brigham Young in the season finale.

Air Force has appeared in the last three Armed Forces Bowls, losing the previous two (Cal, Houston) by an average of six points. The Falcons have not won a postseason game since beating Fresno State in the Silicon Valley Bowl in 2000.

2009 Armed Forces Bowl Betting Trend: Air Force is 1-3 against the spread and 0-4 straight up in its last four games as an underdog with a spread between 4 and 7.5 and total of 54.5 or more.
