The Midshipmen have appeared in seven straight bowls counting tomorrow's meeting with Mizzou. Navy is just 2-4 in its previous six bowl games and it lost its most recent postseason outing, a 19-29 beating at the hands of Wake Forest in last year's EagleBank Bowl.
Missouri was not able to win a third consecutive Big 12 North crown this year, but the Tigers performed exceptionally well considering the number of departures over the offseason. Gary Pinkel's troops fought their way to an 8-4 overall record and a 4-4 conference mark to finish second to Nebraska in the North. The Tigers won three games in a row to finish out the regular season, including a 41-39 victory against Kansas in their finale.
Mizzou will be appearing in its fifth straight bowl game tomorrow afternoon. The Tigers are 3-1 in their last four postseason affairs with wins against South Carolina, Arkansas, and Northwestern.
2009 Texas Bowl Betting Trend: Missouri is 9-1 against the spread and 10-0 straight up in its last 10 games as a favorite with a spread between 4 and 7.5.
