The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl kicks off at 3:30pm ET at LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee (ESPN). Boston College followed up last year's 11-3 campaign, which was Head Coach Jeff Jagodzinski first at BC, with a 9-4 record this season. The Eagles had two four game winning streaks this year and finished conference play at 5-3 and in first place in the ACC's Atlantic division. However, Boston College lost 12-30 to Virginia Tech ACC Championship Game. The Eagles are currently ranked 24th in the BCS standings.

Boston College, while averaging 25.5 points per game on offense, relies primarily on their stout defensive unit. The Eagles defense limited opponents to just 273.3 yards per game and a scoring average of 18.5 throughout the course of the season.

The Commodores will be making their first bowl appearance since 1982 when they lost to Air Force 28-36. Vanderbilt began the season by winning their first five games, but closed it out by losing six of their last seven contests. The resulting 6-6 overall record and 4-4 conference tally was good enough for a third place finish in the SEC's East division.

The Commodores also made their bones on defense, holding teams to 20.1 points per game. The Vandy secondary helped limit opponent passing attacks to just 173.7 yards per game.
