The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl kicks off at noon today at the Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The Houston Cougars and the Air Force Falcons will engage in a rematch from their  meeting back on September 13th, which Air Force won 31-28. Air Force began the season with a three game winning streak of their own and went on to compile a 8-4 overall record. The Falcons finished conference play at 5-3 and concluded the season in fourth place in the Mountain West conference. Air Force did all of this despite returning just eight starters from last year's 9-4 club.

The Falcons averaged 26.7 points per game in the regular season as they featured a ground oriented, ball control offensive attack. Air Force averaged 268.8 yards rushing per game and three of their players went over the 100 carry mark.
