The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl kicks off at noon today at the Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The Houston Cougars and the Air Force Falcons will engage in a rematch from their  meeting back on September 13th, which Air Force won 31-28. College football bowl picks at SBGglobal.com have Houston listed as a -4 favorite.

Houston has been a streaky team, having had two three game winning streaks as well as one three game losing streak through the course of the 2008 season. The Cougars finished the regular season schedule at 7-5 and their 6-2 conference mark left them in third place in Conference USA's West division behind Tulsa and Rice.

Head Coach Kevin Sumlin kept the Cougars offense rolling in his first year on the sideline as his club averaged 41.2 points per game. Houston also averaged 413.5 passing yards per game on the arm of sophomore quarterback Case Keenum. Keenum threw for 4768 yards and 43 touchdowns (161.41 passer rating).

Air Force began the season with a three game winning streak of their own and went on to compile a 8-4 overall record. The Falcons finished conference play at 5-3 and concluded the season in fourth place in the Mountain West conference. Air Force did all of this despite returning just eight starters from last year's 9-4 club.

The Falcons averaged 26.7 points per game in the regular season as they featured a ground oriented, ball control offensive attack. Air Force averaged 268.8 yards rushing per game and three of their players went over the 100 carry mark.

Armed Forces Bowl Betting Trend: The Under is 7-3 in Houston's last 10 games as a favorite with a total of 54.5 or more.
