Ohio State won the Big Ten crown this season by going 10-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play. The Buckeyes only losses came relatively early as they fell to USC on September 12th and at Purdue on October 17th. Jim Tressel's squad won five straight games to close out the regular season, beating Minnesota, New Mexico State, Penn State, Iowa, and Michigan by an average of 21.4 points per game.

The Buckeyes, which are 4-4 in bowl games under Tressel, have lost three consecutive postseason outings coming into tomorrow's dust up with Oregon. Ohio State's last bowl victory came in 2005 when it beat Notre Dame 34-20 in the Fiesta Bowl. The Buckeyes have not played in the Rose Bowl since 1996 when they beat Arizona State 20-17.

Oregon went 10-2 overall and 8-1 in Pac-10 play to capture the conference title under former offensive coordinator and first year Head Coach Chip Kelly. The Ducks only setbacks came against Boise State and Stanford and they won three straight games to finish out the regular portion of their schedule, including a 37-33 victory against in-state rival Oregon State in the finale.

Oregon, which won the Holiday Bowl last year 42-31 against Oklahoma State, has not played in the Rose Bowl since losing to Penn State 20-38 in 1994.

This should be a good battle of offense versus defense as the Ducks averaged 37.7 points and 236 rush yards per game this season while the Buckeyes limited their opposition to 12.2 points and 83.4 rush yards per game.

2010 Rose Bowl Game Betting Trend: Oregon is 9-1 straight up but just 3-7 against the spread in its last 10 games as a favorite with a total between 47.5 and 51.
