The Auto Zone Liberty Bowl has one of the most interesting matchups of this years lower tier bowls as  Conference USA Champions, the Univertsity of Central Florida Knights will go head to head with traditional SEC power Georgia Bulldogs New Years Eve at Liberty Bowl Stadium (3:30 PM ET, ESPN). Oddsmakers at most offshore sports books list the Bulldogs as 6 1/2-chalk favorite versus the Knights with a 53 1/2 total. Central Florida vs Georgia 2010 Liberty Bowl Spreads, Odds & PredictionsSo how are gamblers betting this game? Early trends tell us that 78% of side wagers (ATS) placed on Georgia while 52% have wagered the moneyline for Georgia to win SU.

Georgia fans were not happy following the 2009 season when the team only won seven games. So in 2010 they are more dissatisfied with the Dogs going 6-6, needing a win in today's Liberty Bowl to end the season on a winning note.

Central Florida was able to put it all together in 2010 by winning the C-USA Championship. What the Knights failed to do was notch a signature win. The Knights played two games against teams from BCS leagues, North Carolina State (ACC) and Kansas State (BIG 12), and lost both.

Georgia failed to cover the betting spreads most of the time in 2010 cashing on four of 11 lined games. The Dogs did score well, allowing the OVER to cash on the posted total in four of six lined games.

The Knights treated their wagering backers to a good year cashing ATS in nine of 12 games, and were 6-1 ATS away from home, while going 3-2 ATS in Orlando. The OVER cashed on the posted total in four of six games UCF played.

Liberty Bowl prediction : Georgia might have been a middle of the road SEC team, but are superior to any team in C-USA. That's why oddsmakers list the Dogs as 6 1/2 chalk favorites. I agree; Georgia is the best bet giving -6 1/2.
