NCAAF Picks: Washington vs Notre Dame College Football Odds & Predictions: The Washington Huskies get a respite from conference action this week, but it hardly qualifies as a break since they have to travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on Notre Dame. The 3-1 Irish will open a three game home stand against Steve Sarkisian's team, which will be followed by meetings with USC and Boston College. This Saturday's contest is set to kickoff at 3:30pm ET at Notre Dame Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on NBC. College Football Odds at Bookmaker.com have the Huskies listed as a +13 against the spread road dog. The Huskies USC high did not last long as the team got thumped 34-14 last weekend at Stanford. The offense failed to produce against the Cardinal defense, amassing just 291 yards, a total almost 68 yards under their season average. Quarterback Jake Locker had his poorest showing of the year, completing 16-of-31 passes for 191 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Locker also had six rushes for a mere 21 yards. Washington's ground game produced 100 yards, but a less than stellar 3.7 yards per carry. Freshman running back Chris Polk led the team with 19 carries for 75 yards. The Huskies defense could not withstand the Cardinal rushing attack as Stanford racked up 321 yards on the ground. Toby Gerhart did most of the damage, rushing 27 times for 200 yards. Notre Dame survived a nail-biter for the second straight week, winning 24-21 over Purdue in West-Lafayette. The Fighting Irish trailed 21-17 late in the fourth quarter, but mounted a 12 play, 72 yard drive that ended with Jimmy Clausen hitting tight end Kyle Rudolph in the endzone. Clausen, who fought through a toe injury, completed 15-of-26 passes for 171 yards in the victory. The Irish defense held the Boilermakers to just 74 rush yards (2.8 yards per carry), but also benefited from Purdue's own self-destructive behavior. Danny Hope's squad had two turnovers and 13 penalties in the loss. NCAAF Picks Betting Trend: Washington is 1-9 straight up and 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games as a road dog with a total of 54.5 or more. Bookmaker.com NCAAF Picks: Washington vs Notre Dame College Football Odds & Predictions: Washington Huskies +13 (-110), Over 55.5 (-110), +425 (Moneyline) Notre Dame Fighting Irish -13 (-110), Under 55.5 (-110), -525 (Moneyline) Signup today to bet your College Football Predictions at online sportsbook Bookmaker.com and receive a 20% bonus! |

Colorado vs. West Virginia College Football Picks: The Colorado Buffaloes have been getting plenty of attention in the early goings of the 2009 college football season for all the wrong reasons. Expected to be competetive in the BIG 12 North this season, the team hasn't shown that spirit as the season enters its fifth week. Colorado finally got its first win, a 24-0 blanking of Wyoming, in week four after going 0-2 to open the season against non-BCS opponents Colorado State (MWC) and Toledo (MAC). While going 2-0 in the early going, Wyoming hasn't set the world on fire going 2-1 through four weeks with wins against FCS Liberty and non-BCS C-USA member East Carolina. Against BCS competition, the Mountaineers lost at Auburn 30-41. Thursday night, West Virginia will host Colorado in an intersectional BIG EAST / BIG 12 match-up at Mountaineer Field in Morgantown, WV. College football picks oddsmakers at SPORTSBETTING.com list West Virginia as 17-chalk favorites over Colorado with a 54 1/2 total. Moneyline odds are currently OFF the SPORTSBETTING board.
Gamblers looking for the right play on this game need to look a the reality of the situation. Colorado got off to a bad start but they have some veteran players, including red-shirt junior quarterback Cody Hawkins. In the pre-season some pundits thought the Buffaloes had what it would take to compete in the BIG 12 North Division. Colorado hasn't lived up to those expectations but seemed to have their game in order against Wyoming last week.
Neither West Virginia or Colorado can afford to lose Thursday's game with the conference season for both schools looming. West Virginia, while going 2-1, isn't any more proven than Colorado is. The Mountaineers struggled in their opener versus FCS Liberty, if that is any indication.
College football picks - Colorado is a gift to gamblers getting +17 point. We know that each game takes on its own personality but we love the odds that Colorado scores enough points to hang close with West Virginia. Southern Mississippi at UAB College Football Picks: The Southern Miss Golden Eagles college football team has started its season in stellar fashion going 3-1 with wins over Alcorn State, Central Florida and ACC member Virginia with the only loss a 28-35 thriller at No. 18 (AP)Kansas in week 4. On Thursday (Oct. 1), the Golden Eagles travel to play C-USA rival University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers (UAB) at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala. UAB is currently 1-4 (1-1, C-USA) with its only win coming against the Rice Owls (44-24) in week 1. Since that time, the Blazers have suffered three straight losses, at home (33-35) to SMU and on the road (14-27) at Troy (week 3) and (19-56) at Texas A&M (week 4).
Under normal circumstances, it is expected the Golden Eagles would be installed as a favorites in this game - however; the team has several players who have health concerns going into the UAB contest, including running backs Damion Fletcher and Tory Harrison, as well as receivers DeAndre Brown and Johdrick Morris. Some or all of these players will not play Thursday night.
College football picks oddsmakers at SPORTSBETTING.com list USM as 10-chalk favorites versus UAB with a 59 total. College football picks early betting trends show gamblers laying heavy on USM. A lopsided 86% are betting USM ATS while 88% are betting the Eagles to win SU on the moneyline. The majority of gamblers (72%) like the posted total to fall UNDER 59. In three listed games played this year, USM is only 1-2 ATS while the total has gone OVER in 2-of-3. UAB has played four board listed games but hasn't fared well for backers covering 1-of-4 ATS. The OVER has cashed for backers in 3-of-4 board listed games UAB played. College Football Picks: If you are hot on USM to blow out UAB you better think again. They have too many injuries in key positions to have much confidence in covering a double-digit chalk. I like UAB to cover +10 at home. NCAAF Picks: UCLA vs Stanford College Football Predictions & Odds: Pac-10 rivals UCLA and Stanford are set to hook up in a conference clash this Saturday in Stanford, California. The meeting will be the third league game of the season for the 3-1 Cardinal; it will be UCLA's first Pac-10 game this year. Kickoff is set for 3:30pm ET at Stanford Stadium (ABC). NCAAF Picks at Bodog.com have the Bruins listed as a +5 against the spread road dog. The Bruins enter conference play with a 3-0 record and fresh legs after sitting out last weekend. UCLA last played on September 19th when they beat Kansas State 23-9 at the Rose Bowl. Rick Neuheisel's defense limited the Wildcats to 268 total yards and three third down conversions in the win. K-State managed 69 rush yard (1.9 yards per carry) against a front seven that is giving up an average of just 74.3 yards per contest. The Bruins offense, under the guidance of quarterback Kevin Craft, amassed 359 yards and 16 first downs in 25:57. Craft, who filled in for injured starter Kevin Prince (will not return until October 10th game against Oregon - broken jaw), completed 13-of-24 passes for 186 yards in the win. The senior passer had his best moment late in the fourth quarter when he hooked up with Terrence Austin for a 51 yard touchdown strike. Freshman running back Jonathan Franklin led the Bruins ground attack with a 23 carry, 119 yard, one touchdown performance. Stanford improved to 3-1 last weekend and 2-0 in Pac-10 play by thrashing Washington 34-14 at Stanford Stadium. The Cardinal dominated the then No. 24 Huskies, holding them to 291 total yards and 16 first downs. Stanford's defense also brought quarterback Jake Locker back to earth as he completed just 16-of-31 passes for 191 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. Jim Harbaugh's offense gashed the Huskies with a rushing attack that racked up 321 yards (6.4 yards per carry). Quarterback Andrew Luck completed 7-of-14 passes for 103 yards, but he ran eight times for 59 yards in a touchdown. Running back Toby Gerhart brought his season rush total to 516 yards after stampeding Washington's defense for 200 yards in 27 carries. NCAAF Picks Betting Trend: UCLA is 6-1 straight up in their last seven games versus Stanford. The Bruins are 3-0 against the spread this season while the Cardinal are 3-1. UCLA is 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games as a road dog with a spread between 4 and 7.5. NCAAF Picks: Penn State vs Illinois College Football Odds & Predictions: The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Illinois Fighting Illini will attempt to rebound from conference opener losses last weekend when they meet at Memorial Stadium in Champaign-Urbana this Saturday. The two Big 10 rivals are set to kick things off at 3:30pm ET on ABC. NCAAF Picks at Sportsbook.com have the Lions listed as a -7 against the spread favorite. It was the curse of the dreaded Hawkeyes again that tripped up Penn State last Saturday as Kirk Ferentz squad came into Beaver Stadium and nipped the Lions 21-10. The loss dropped Penn State's record to 3-1 and the school fell from fifth in the ranking all the way to 15th as a result of the setback. Joe Pa's troops led 10-0 after the first quarter but could do nothing against Iowa after that. Quarterback Daryll Clark had a horrific game, completing 12-of-32 passes for 198 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions. The fourth quarter proved to be nightmarish for Penn State as Iowa blocked a punt and returned it for a score, ended another Lions drive with a pick, and stopped yet another drive deep in their own territory by forcing a Lions fumble, all in the final frame. The loss brought Penn State's record to 2-8 in their last 10 meetings with Iowa. As bad as Penn State had it, Illinois had it worse last weekend, losing in humiliating 0-30 fashion at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes had their way on the ground against the Illini, racking up 236 yards at 5.1 yards per clip. They also completely shut down quarterback Juice Williams and the Illinois offense. The Illini managed just 170 total yards as Williams completed 13-of-25 passes for 77 yards and two interceptions. The senior passer also rushed 15 times for just 18 yards. Illinois' record dropped to 1-2 with the loss and Ron Zook really needs a win against the Lions to keep his seat from getting warm. The Fighting Illini host Michigan State after Penn State, and then they have away games at Indiana and Purdue that suddenly do not look so winnable. NCAAF Picks Betting Trend: Illinois is 2-8 straight up in their last 10 games against Penn State. The Illini are 2-4 in their last six games as a home dog with a spread between 4 and 7.5; they are 0-6 straight up in those games. Sportsbook.com NCAAF Picks: Penn State vs Illinois College Football Odds & Predictions: Penn State Nittany Lions -7 (-110), -280 (Moneyline) Illinois Fighting Illini +7 (-110), +240 (Moneyline) Get a 50% Deposit Bonus and $25 Free Bet at Sportsbook.com, simply use promo code WIN100 and start winning today! |
