BCS Standings – Florida remains on top for week 12: One big thing was noticieable when Week 12 of the BCS college football rankings were released Sunday afternoon. There was no change in the top eight teams from week 11 to week 12. Florida held down the top spot followed by No. 2 Alabama, 3 Texas, 4 Texas Christian, and Cincinnati rounding out the top five. Ranked No. 6 is Boise State followed by 7 Georgia Tech and 8 LSU. Pittsburgh at No. 9 and Ohio State round out the BCS top 10.
The top eight teams ranked in the BCS poll in week 11 did exactly what they needed to do to hold onto their positions as the week played out. Florida went on the road to Columbia S.C. and took care of business by soundly defeating South Carolina. Alabama ventured into hostile territory and manhandled Mississippi State while Texas stepped out of BIG 12 play to humiliate Central Florida of C-USA down in Austin.
TCU helped itself to stay at No. 4 with its 55-28 beat-down of last years BCS buster Utah at home in Fort Worth, Texas. The only thing standing in the way of a sure BCS bid for the Horned Frogs are Wyoming in Week 12 and woeful New Mexico in week 13. Sportsbook.com lists the Frogs as 28-chalk favorites at Wyoming this Saturday.
Sportsbook.com lists Texas as the team with the best odds of winning the 2010 BCS Championship at -120 closely followed by Florida (-125) and Alabama (-200).
