The Western Michigan Broncos and the Rice Owls will face each other tonight in the Texas Bowl at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The game kicks off at 8:00pm ET and will be broadcast on the NFL Network. College bowl picks at BetUS.com have the Owls listed as a -3 favorite. Rice made a tremendous turnaround this year under second year Head Coach David Bailiff. Last year's Owl team went just 3-9, but Bailiff got the most of his 16 returning starters and guided his squad to a 9-3 record this season. Rice also finished 7-1 in Conference USA play and finished in second place in the West division behind Tulsa. The Owls have one of the more prolific offenses in the country and their 41.6 point per game average is testament to their ability to move the ball. The Rice passing attack produced 327.8 yards per game as quarterback Chase Clement threw for 3812 yards and 41 touchdowns. Dynamic receiving duo James Casey and Jaret Dillard also combined for 183 receptions, 2441 yards, and 31 touchdowns. Western Michigan had a big turnaround this season as well, going from 5-7 last year to 9-3 this season. Like the Owls, the Broncos used the experience of a large number of returning starters (17) to progress on the girdiron. Head Coach Bill Cubit, in his fourth year at Western Michigan, led his team to a 6-2 conference record and a third place finish in the MAC's West division. The Broncos also possess a productive passing game, as they posted 301.2 passing yards per contest this year. Junior quarterback Tim Hiller, who amassed a 148.43 passer rating in the regular season, threw for 3527 yards and 34 touchdowns. Texas Bowl Betting Trend: Western Michigan is 3-7 straight up in their last 10 games as an underdog with a total of 54.5 or more. BetUS.com's Western Michigan vs Rice 2008 Texas Bowl Betting Odds: Western Michigan +3 (-110), Over 74 (-110), +130 (Money line) Rice Owls -3 (-110), Under 74 (-110), -150 (Money line) Matt Foust has completely dominated the bookies this season in College Football hitting a documented 56% of all his NCAA Football release growing his clients bankrolls +855 units. The 2008 Roady's Humanitarian Bowl between the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Maryland Terrapins kicks off today at 4:30pm ET at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. This WAC versus ACC match-up will be televised on ESPN. College football bowl picks at SBGglobal.com have Nevada listed as a -3 favorite. The Wolf Pack, who returned 13 starters from last year's 6-7 squad, worked their way to 7-5 overall record in the regular season. Nevada also finished 5-3 in the WAC, a mark good enough for third place in the nine team conference. Head Coach Chris Ault's team concluded the season by defeating this year's Independence Bowl winner, Louisiana Tech, 35-31 in Ruston, LA. Nevada had little trouble moving the ball this year or putting points on the scoreboard. Behind the arm and legs of sophomore quarterback Colin Kaepernick (2479 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, 1115 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns), the Wolf Pack offense produced 510 yards per game and 37.8 points per contest. The Terrapins, like the Wolf Pack, also brought back 13 starters from a 6-7 team, and they also produced a 7-5 record this season. Maryland went 4-4 in ACC play and finished in third place in the conference's Atlantic division. Head Coach Ralph Friedgen, in his eighth year with the school, is 3-2 in bowl games after losing last year's Emerald Bowl 14-21 to Oregon State. Maryland had anything but a high powered offense this year, producing just 20.1 points per game; however, their defense limited teams to 355.6 yards per game and 21.4 points per game. 2008 Roady's Humanitarian Bowl Betting Trend: The Under is 8-2 in Maryland's last 10 games as an underdog with a spread between 0 to 3.5. SBGglobal.com's Nevada vs Maryland 2008 Roady's Humanitarian Bowl Betting Odds: Nevada Wolf Pack -3 (-110), Over 59 (-110), -140 (Money line) Maryland Terrapins +3 (-110), Under 59 (-110), +120 (Money line) Matt Foust has completely dominated the bookies this season in College Football hitting a documented 56% of all his NCAA Football release growing his clients bankrolls +855 units. The 2008 Valero Alamo Bowl takes place tonight at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game, featuring the Northwestern Wildcats and the Missouri Tigers, kicks off at 8:00pm ET and will be televised on ESPN. College bowl picks at Sportsbook.com have the Tigers listed as a -12.5 favorite. Missouri comes into the Alamo Bowl having won the Big 12 North title for the second season in a row. Gary Pinkel's squad finished 5-3 in conference play, with only one loss coming against a Big 12 North foe. The Tigers 9-4 record currently has them ranked 21st in the BCS standings, despite being beat 62-21 by Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game in Kansas City, MO back on December 6th. The Tigers are led by senior quarterback Chase Daniel and sophomore receiver Jeremy Macklin. Daniel threw for 4135 yards and 37 touchdowns while Macklin caught 95 passes for 1221 yards and 12 touchdowns. Mizzou is averaging 43.2 points per game this season and nearly 500 yards of offense per contest. Northwestern has had a terrific season under third year Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald. The Wildcats returned 15 starters from last year's 6-6 team and they parlayed that experience into a 9-3 record this year. Northwestern went 5-3 in conference play, which was good enough for a fourth place finish in the Big 10 standings. Fitzgerald's troops are currently ranked 23rd in the BCS standings. The Wildcats defense has held teams to 337.8 yards per game this season, translating into a 19.3 points per game allowed average. 2008 Valero Alamo Bowl Betting Trend: The Under is 8-3 over the last five years when Northwestern played as an underdog with a total of 54.5 or more coming a win. Sportsbook.com's Northwestern vs Missouri 2008 Valero Alamo Bowl Betting Odds: Northwestern Wildcats +12.5 (-110), Over 66.5 (-110), +400 (Money line) Missouri Tigers -12.5 (-110), Under 66.5 (-110), -500 (Money line) Matt Foust has completely dominated the bookies this season in College Football hitting a documented 56% of all his NCAA Football release growing his clients bankrolls +855 units. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Wolfpack of North Carolina State will do battle today in the third annual Papajohns.com Bowl. The match-up will take place at 3:00pm ET at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. College bowl picks at BetUS.com have Rutgers listed as a -6.5 favorite. The Scarlet Knights got off to a miserable start this season, despite returning 15 starters from last year's 8-5 squad. Rutgers lost four of their first five contests before getting things turned around at the season's half-way point. They went on to win their final six games and finished the regular season with a 7-5 record. The Knights 5-2 conference mark was good enough for a fourth place finish in the Big East standings. Rutgers senior quarterback Mike Teel , like his team, had a rough start to the year, but he also got things corrected. Teel closed out the schedule in top form, throwing for 3099 yards, 23 touchdowns, and compiling a 148.52 passer rating. NC State's season somewhat mirrored Rutgers as they too had a difficult start to the year. The young Wolfpack, however, improved as the season progressed and after losing six of their first eight games, they went on to win their last four. The resulting 6-6 record made them bowl eligible, but it did not do much for their conference finish. NC State (4-4 in conference play) concluded the regular season in last place in the ACC's Atlantic division. Freshman quarterback Russell Wilson aided the Wolfpack's turnaround as he threw for 1769 yards and produced a 134.29 passer rating. Wilson also threw 16 touchdowns to just one interception. Papajohns.com Bowl Betting Trend: The Under is 1-4 in Rutgers last five games with a total of 54.5 or more. BetUS.com's NC State vs Rutgers 2008 Papajohns.com Bowl Betting Odds: NC State Wolfpack +6.5 (-110), Over 56.5 (-110), +220 (Money line) Rutgers Scarlet Knights -6.5 (-110), Under 56.5 (-110), -260 (Money line) Matt Foust has completely dominated the bookies this season in College Football hitting a documented 56% of all his NCAA Football release growing his clients bankrolls +855 units. The seventh annual Emerald Bowl kicks off tonight at 8:00pm ET at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California. The Hurricanes from the University of Miami (FL) and the California Golden Bears are the participants in this ESPN televised battle. College bowl picks at Sportsbook.com have the Golden Bears listed as a -8.5 favorite. The Hurricanes made improvements in Randy Shannon's second year on the sidelines, going from 5-7 last year to 7-5 this season. Offensively, Miami put up seven more points per game this year over last. The Hurricanes also progressed in conference play, finishing at 4-4 and in fourth place in the ACC's Coastal division. Their regular season was highlighted by a five game winning streak that included victories over Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. Miami is averaging 27.9 points per game on the season and allowing 24.2 points per game in return. Their defense has limited teams to just 312. 9 yards per game, but has had trouble in the red zone as opponents have scored almost 94 percent of the time against them inside of it. California secured an 8-4 record in Jeff Tedford's seventh year as head coach. Their 6-3 mark in conference play resulted in a fourth place PAC-10 finish, a three spot improvement over last season. The Bears come into the Emerald Bowl having won two games in a row (Stanford and Washington), however, they have not won three consecutive games all season long. California's offense, which averages 33.3 points per game, is led by sophomore running back Jahvid Best. The 19 year old Vallejo, California native rushed for 1394 yards in the regular season and averaged a ridiculous 8.0 yards per carry while scoring 13 touchdowns. Emerald Bowl Betting Trend: California is 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games as a favorite with a spread between 8 and 10.5. Sportsbook.com's Miami vs California 2008 Emerald Bowl Betting Odds: Miami Hurricanes +8.5 (-105), Over 50 (-110), +270 (Money line) California Golden Bears -8.5 (-105), Under 50 (-110), -330 (Money line) Matt Foust has completely dominated the bookies this season in College Football hitting a documented 56% of all his NCAA Football release growing his clients bankrolls +855 units.
