Central Florida vs Rutgers 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds: The Central Florida Knights and Rutgers Scarlet Knights will do battle in the second St. Petersburg Bowl tomorrow night at Tropicana Field. South Florida beat Memphis 41-14 in last year's inaugural game, and both of this year's combatants are hoping for a similar score, in their favor of course, on Saturday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00pm ET on ESPN. 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds at online sportsbook SBGglobal.com have Rutgers listed as a slight -2.5 against the spread favorite. Central Florida rebounded from a dismal 4-8 campaign last year to go 8-4 (9-2 ATS) this season and finish second in the Conference USA's East Division to East Carolina. The Knights compiled a 6-2 league record, losing only to the aforementioned Pirates and Southern Miss. George O'Leary's squad won five of its last six games and closed out the regular season with three straight wins, beating Houston, Tulane, and UAB. This year's bowl appearance marks just the third in UCF history. O'Leary guided the Knights to the 2005 Hawaii Bowl, which they lost 48-49 to Nevada, and the 2007 Liberty Bowl where they suffered a 3-10 loss at the hands of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Rutgers enters tomorrow's bowl, its fifth straight, with an 8-4 (6-6 ATS) overall record. Many felt the Scarlet Knights would win the Big East this year given their schedule, but Greg Schiano's troops finished fourth behind Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia with a 3-4 league record. Rutgers closed out the season by losing two of its last three ball games, including a horrendous 13-31 loss at 4-8 (1-6 conference record) Syracuse. Schiano has guided the Scarlet Knights to three consecutive bowl wins, beating Kansas State in the 2006 Texas Bowl, Ball State in the 2007 International Bowl, and North Carolina State 29-23 in last year's Papajohns.com Bowl. 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl Betting Trend: Central Florida is 11-4 against the spread over the last five years as an underdog coming off of a win. Central Florida, however, is just 1-8 straight up (6-3 against the spread) in its last nine games as an underdog with a total between 44.5 and 47. SBGglobal.com Central Florida vs Rutgers 2009 St. Petersburg Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds: UCF Knights +2.5 (-105), Over 44.5 (-110), +125 (Moneyline) Rutgers Scarlet Knights -2.5 (-115), Under 44.5 (-110), -145 (Moneyline) Bet on sports at internet sportsbook SBG Global and receive up to 295% in Cash Bonuses and start winning today! |

Fresno State vs Wyoming 2009 New Mexico Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds: The fourth annual New Mexico Bowl will be played tomorrow at University Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This year's participants are the Fresno State Bulldogs out of the Western Athletic Conference and the Wyoming Cowboys out of the Mountain West. Kickoff is set for 4:30pm ET on ESPN. 2009 New Mexico Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds at online bookmaker SPORTSBETTING.com have the Bulldogs listed as a -11.5 against the spread favorite. First year Head Coach Dave Christensen did not take long to make an impact in Laramie, guiding the Cowboys to a 6-6 record and their first post-season appearance since the 2004 Las Vegas Bowl (UCLA). The school is hoping for a similar result to that game when things get underway tomorrow as Wyoming, a +12 underdog to the Bruins, took out UCLA 24-21. Despite losing to BYU and TCU in the last quarter of the regular season by a combined 97-10, the Cowboys earned their bowl bid by recording late season road victories over San Diego State and Colorado State. Wyoming closed out conference play with a 4-4 record, which enabled the Pokes to finish fifth in the Mountain West standings. Fresno State earned its 10th bowl bid in the last 11 seasons with an 8-4 overall record and a third place finish in the WAC (6-2 mark against conference opposition). The Bulldogs had a tough road early in the year, squaring off against Wisconsin, Boise State, and Cincinnati after their season opening win against UC Davis. Pat Hill's squad lost all of those games, but they rebounded to win seven of their last eight, including back-to-back wins against Louisiana Tech and Illinois to close out the regular season. The Bulldogs, which lost to Colorado State 35-40 in last year's New Mexico Bowl, come into this bowl clash averaging nearly 18 more points per game than Wyoming. They also have one of the best offensive players in the country in junior running back Ryan Mathews. Mathews ran for 1664 yards (6.8 yards per carry) and 17 touchdowns while leading the nation in rush yards per game at 151.3. 2009 New Mexico Bowl Betting Trend: Fresno State is 4-2 against the spread and 6-0 straight up as an 11 to 13.5 against the spread favorite with a total of 54.5 or more (Under 6-0). SPORTSBETTING.com Fresno State vs Wyoming 2009 New Mexico Bowl Picks, Predictions & Odds: Fresno State Bulldogs -11.5 (-105), Over 55 (-110), -420 (Moneyline) Wyoming Cowboys +11.5 (-105), Under 55 (-110), +330 (Moneyline) Cash in with sign-up bonuses, weekly reload bonuses and free payouts at SPORTSBETTING.com, where betting is safe, secure and easy. |

West Virginia vs Florida State 2010 Gator Bowl Opening Point Spread: The West Virginia Mountaineers and Florida State Seminoles will butt heads on January 1st in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The game will be the swan song for Head Coach Bobby Bowden, ending his 34 year tenure at Florida State. The 2010 Gator Bowl opening point spread at online bookmaker Sportsbook.com has the Mountaineers listed as a -3 against the spread favorite. West Virginia fought its way to a 9-3 record this year, giving Head Coach Bill Stewart a 19-7 mark since taking over for Ric h Rodriquez two years ago. The Mountaineers were 5-2 in Big East play and finished second to the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats in the conference standings. Stewart's troops won three of their last four games and closed out the year with back-to-back victories over No. 17 Pittsburgh and Rutgers. West Virginia has won four straight bowl games coming into this clash with FSU, including the 2006 Gator Bowl, which it won 38-35 over Georgia Tech. Florida State followed up last year's 9-4 mark with a 6-6 record in what has been deemed Bobby Bowden's last season. The Seminoles finished third behind Boston College and Clemson in the ACC Atlantic Division with a 4-4 conference record. Despite the up and down year, FSU did win four of its last six games, beating North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, and Maryland. The 2010 Gator Bowl will be Bowden's 33rd post-season game. He produced a 21-10-1 record in his previous 32 bowl contests and he has two National Championships to his credit. Navy vs Missouri 2009 Texas Bowl Opening Point Spread: The Navy Midshipmen and the Missouri Tigers have been invited to the fourth annual Texas Bowl, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday December 31st in Houston, Texas. The game will kickoff at 3:30pm ET at Reliant Stadium; it will be televised live on ESPN. The 2009 Texas Bowl opening point spread at Bookmaker.com has the Tigers listed as a -6.5 against the spread favorite. Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo guided the Midshipmen to a 9-4 record this year, his second with the team. Navy's solid performance helped the school garner a seventh consecutive bowl appearance and finish with the best record among the nation's 1A Independent schools (Notre Dame, Army). The Middies finished out the regular season by winning three of their last four games, including a December 12th 17-3 win over the Army Black Knights. Navy did anything but embarrass itself against the tougher opponents on its schedule, falling 27-31 at Ohio State and 27-14 at Pittsburgh and recording wins over SMU, Wake Forest, Air Force and Notre Dame. The Missouri Tigers were attempting to win their third consecutive Big 12 North title this year, but they fell just short of that goal (second place behind Nebraska). Gary Pinkel's squad did better than many projected, though, finishing 8-4 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 action despite losing a number of big contributors on both offense and defense. The Tigers closed out the regular season playing good football, winning four of their last five games, including three in a row to finish up. Missouri last played on November 28th when it beat arch rival Kansas 41-39 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Missouri has three victories in its last four bowl games, recording wins against South Carolina (Independence), Arkansas (Cotton), and Northwestern (Alamo). The Middies have lost three straight bowl games and four of their last six post-season contests. Bookmaker.com Navy vs Missouri 2009 Texas Bowl Opening Point Spread: Navy Midshipmen +6.5 (-110), Over 52.5 (-110), +235 (Moneyline) Missouri Tigers -6.5 (-110), Under 52.5 (-110), -275 (Moneyline) Signup today to bet your 2009 Texas Bowl Opening Point Spread at online sportsbook Bookmaker.com and receive a 20% bonus! |

Minnesota vs Iowa State 2009 Insight Bowl Opening Point Spread: The Big Ten's Golden Gophers will take on the Big 12's Cyclones on New Year's Eve in the Insight Bowl in Tempe, Arizona. The two combatants will kick things off at 6:00pm ET at Sun Devil Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on the NFL Network. The 2009 Insight Bowl Opening Point Spread at BetUS.com has Minnesota listed as a -2.5 against the spread favorite. After tanking in his first season in Minnesota, Head Coach Tim Brewster has now guided the Gophers to back-to-back bowl games. Brewster's squad followed up last year's 7-6 campaign with a 6-6 regular season. The Gophers were not that impressive in conference action, going 3-5 in Big Ten play and finishing eighth in the 11 team league. Minnesota managed just two wins in its final six games, those coming against Michigan State (42-34) and South Dakota State (16-13). The team closed out the regular portion of its schedule with a 0-12 loss at No. 10 Iowa. Iowa State put together a solid season under first year Head Coach Paul Rhoads, finishing the year with a 6-6 record. The Cyclones won just five games the previous two seasons under former coach Gene Chizik. Rhoads, like Brewster, guided his squad to a 3-5 conference mark, which was good enough for a fourth place finish in the Big 12's North Division. The Cyclones did not close out the year in good fashion as they lost three of their final four games. Their lone win in that stretch came against the Colorado Buffaloes (17-10) in Ames. Iowa State has not been to a bowl since 2005 when it lost the Houston Bowl to TCU 24-27. The Cyclones played in the Insight.com Bowl in 2000, beating Pittsburgh 37-29 as a two point underdog. The Gophers played in the Insight Bowl in both 2006 and 2008. They lost the 2006 game to Texas Tech 41-44 in overtime and the fell last year to the Kansas Jayhawks 21-42. BetUS.com Minnesota vs Iowa State 2009 Insight Bowl Opening Point Spread: Minnesota Golden Gophers -2.5 (-110), Over 48.5 (-110), -140 (Moneyline) Iowa State Cyclones +2.5 (-110), Under 48.5 (-110), +120 (Moneyline) Bet on sports at online sportsbook BetUS.com and receive up to 145% in Cash Bonuses and start winning today! |
