ACC Round Up: Jyles Tuckers and Wake Forest Hold Off Boston College@ Wake Forest 21-Boston College 14-COVERING LINE –WAKE FOREST +4, TOTAL 41.5 UNDER WINS 35. Kevin Marion had an 81-yard touchdown run and Patrick Ghee intercepted a pass in the end zone with just under a minute left Saturday night as No. 22 Wake Forest held off No. 16 Boston College 21-14. Jyles Tucker had two sacks and forced a key fourth-quarter fumble and the Demon Deacons limited the Eagles to 28 yards rushing to move to 8-1 for the first time since 1944, tying a school record for victories in a season. At 4-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Wake is in a first-place tie with Maryland in the Atlantic Division.

Georgia Tech 31- @ NC State 23-COVERING LINE GT –4, TOTAL 41.5 OVER WINS 54. Reggie Ball threw four touchdown passes, two to Heisman Trophy candidate Calvin Johnson and No. 20 Georgia Tech denied North Carolina State its third win of the season against a ranked team by beating the Wolfpack 31-23 on Saturday night. Tashard Choice had a career-high 164 yards rushing on 34 carries, Ball was 13-of-35 passing for 215 yards with two interceptions and Johnson had nine catches for a personal-best 168 yards to help the Yellow Jackets (7-2, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) remain on track to win the league's Coastal Division.

Virginia Tech 16- @Miami U 10-COVERING LINE, VT –1.5, TOTAL 38 UNDER WINS 26-Virginia Tech (7-2, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) ran 28 plays in the final two quarters, managing only 19 yards but still found a way to win on Miami's home field for the second time in as many visits. Tyrone Moss had 103 yards on 13 carries, including a 50-yard touchdown run to tie the game in the fourth quarter, for Miami (5-4, 2-3). Jon Peattie kicked a 55-yard field goal, aided by a stiff breeze, in the third for the Hurricanes, who trailed 10-0 at halftime. Coming off consecutive 200-yard efforts, Brandon Ore found little running room against Miami's defensive front. Yet when things mattered most, Ore found a way to deliver for Virginia Tech. Both of Ore's scores were set up by Miami interceptions, one thrown by Kirby Freeman in the second quarter, the other off a deflected Kyle Wright pass with 3:33 left. Brandon Flowers had two interceptions, including another against Wright with 1:21 left to seal the Hokies' win.

Maryland 13- @ Clemson 12-COVERING LINE, MARYLAND +18.5, TOTAL 48.5 UNDER WINS 25. Dan Ennis kicked a 31-yard field goal as time ran out, lifting Maryland to its fourth straight victory, a 13-12 win over No. 19 Clemson on Saturday that kept the Terps alive in the Atlantic Coast Conference title race. The victory keeps them in the mix to represent the league's Atlantic Division in next month's championship game. Maryland came into the weekend tied in the division with No. 16 Boston College and No. 22 Wake Forest. It will remain up top with whoever wins the BC-Demon Deacon showdown Saturday night.



Florida State 33 @ Virginia 0-COVERING LINE FSU –13.5,TOTAL 40 UNDER WINS 33
-Tony Carter returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown 74 seconds into the game, and Florida State (5-4, 3-4 ACC) was on its way to snapping a two-game skid with a 33-0 victory over Virginia (4-6, 3-3 ACC) on Saturday. Florida State is a win away from being bowl eligible.
 


Navy 38-Duke 13-COVERING LINE NAVY –11, TOTAL 47.5 OVER WINS 51- Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada ran for 119 yards and a touchdown and threw for a score Saturday to lead Navy to a 38-13 victory over Duke. Adam Ballard added 103 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Midshipmen (6-3), who had no trouble ending a two-game losing streak or finding plenty of running room against the winless Blue Devils (0-9). Navy ran for 435 yards, threw just five passes and didn't punt all day. Re'quan Boyette ran for a short touchdown for Duke, which scored on its first possession before succumbing to Navy's relentless ground attack.

 

Notre Dame 45-North Carolina 26-COVERING LINE NC +25.5, TOTAL 53.5 OVER WINS 71.Brady Quinn passed for four touchdowns and a season-high 346 yards to help No. 11 Notre Dame (8-1) overcome breakdowns on defense and special teams and beat North Carolina 45-26 Saturday. It appeared for a while the Fighting Irish would put the game away early, breaking a 7-7 tie with a pair of touchdowns and a field goal to move ahead 24-7. But the Irish gave up a 90-yard kickoff return by Brandon Tate and a 72-yard touchdown catch by Hakeem Nicks. It marks the first time the Irish have won at least eight games in back-to-back seasons since 1996. The Tar Heels (1-8) fell to 1-16 all-time against the Irish.
